Field Response Logistics Manager

Job Summary:
Under the leadership of the Sr Director of Field Investigation and Response (FIR), the Field Response Logistics Manager will coordinate all activities for the FI R, and will manage logistics for meetings, events and field responses. with the team . He or she will also be responsible for maintaining inventory of vehicles, equipment and supplies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all activities for the Field Investigation and Response department This includes but is not limited to scheduling meetings, coordinating events, tracking staff schedules, and correspondence.
- Coordinate logistics of training for FIR and ASPCA Field Response Team including preparation for, on-site logistics, and post-training follow-up. This includes but is not limited to site selection; event publicity; negotiating with partners and vendors; processing registrations and payment and securing accommodations.
- Response Logistics:
- Pre-response: Communicate with team members and volunteers to coordinate itineraries and compile lists of essential personal equipment and paperwork for response. Make travel arrangements for responders. Order technical supplies and equipment and work with equipment consultant to activate appropriate resources.
- On-site logistics: Coordinate between personnel in the field and staff at ASPCA headquarters. Continually reassess stock of supplies and equipment on hand and restock as necessary. Arrange and facilitate briefings; Arrange for demobilization of responders. Track expenses and hours. Work with other agencies to coordinate resources, personnel and equipment to insure adequate coverage.
- Response follow-up: Arrange debriefings and After-Action Review; Coordinate the return of all equipment, vehicles and supplies, and replace any damaged, lost or donated items. Process travel and Expense reports for responders.
- Liaison with Director of Field Response and Equipment Manager Consultant to insure vehicles, trailers and technical equipment are appropriately maintained registered and insured.
- Purchase supplies, track expenses and manage inventory.
- Research new personal and technical equipment and make recommendations to Director to enhance cache.
- Work with Equipment Manager to insure regular trainings and refresher courses for team members on the proper usage of equipment.
- Work with partner agencies that house our shared equipment to maintain vehicle and equipment inventory and arrange joint trainings on that equipment.
- Attend meetings and preparedness events as needed.
- Attend Professional Development trainings and conferences as needed.
- Other duties as required.
Education:
- Undergraduate degree preferred
Experience:
- Three years administrative and/or coordination experience.
- Field or Emergency Response experience preferred.
- Logistics experience a plus.
- Animal handling experience a plus.
Knowledge Requirements:
- Basic Incident Command Certification – IS 100, 200, 700, 800
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Skills Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent computer and database skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Additional Information:
- Must be a self-guided, and highly motivated individual; ability to work with minimal supervision
- Frequent travel required, but travel on each incident may not be necessary
- Must occasionally lift or move up to 35 pounds
- Work after-hours and on weekends required as necessary.
- Driver’s license required
- Prefer position to be NYC based, but not required.
