Walkers Shortbread and the ASPCA Team Up to Save Animals
Walkers Shortbread, purveyor of traditional cookies, cakes, oatcakes and puddings of Scotland, has announced an exciting new partnership with the ASPCA. Throughout 2012, Walkers will donate 10 cents from the U.S. sale of each package of its Scottie Dog products, including Scottie Dog cookies and tins, to the ASPCA, with a minimum, guaranteed donation of $25,000.
Unveiled in 2011, the Scottie Dog cookies are pure butter shortbread. In January 2012, a special edition Scottie Dog tin debuted in San Francisco. The tin is filled with 18 Scottie Dog cookies and adorned with black-and-white Scottish terriers against a background of Walkers’ traditional tartan.
“The adorable Scottie Dog cookies convey our affinity for this beloved breed, and working with the ASPCA is a great way for us, as well as our customers, to show our appreciation for animals,” said Jim Walker, managing director of Walkers Shortbread. “Walkers Shortbread wishes to help the ASPCA raise awareness of the issues of animal cruelty and homelessness.”
