The Animal Behavior Center is a division of ASPCA National Programs, located in Urbana, IL. We offer a variety of educational services, including graduate and post-graduate programs for aspiring companion animal behaviorists; continuing education for animal trainers, veterinarians and other professionals; pet behavior research for the scientific community, and sound, practical advice for local area pet owners.

Mission Statement
The ASPCA Animal Behavior Center is dedicated to promoting balanced, respectful and enriched relations between people and pets through graduate and post-graduate programs for aspiring animal behaviorists; continuing behavioral education for shelter personnel, trainers, veterinarians, and other animal professionals; and the provision of practical, humane advice on pet behavior for owners.

Educational Programs
Pamela Reid, Ph.D., CAAB and her associates disseminate scientifically accurate and current information on companion animal behavior through continuing education, seminars, speaking engagements, and publications.

Clinical Program
The ASPCA Animal Behavior Center currently offers private house call consultations on pet behavior problems in the Champaign County area of central Illinois. We see a full range of behavior problems in pets, from biting dogs to cats soiling outside the litter box. We use effective and humane methods to manage and change behavior and we adhere to the Animal Behavior Society’s Code of Ethics. Our future goal is to establish a National Lifeline telephone service for owners of pets with behavior problems.
