In August 2013, the ASPCA assisted the FBI in a multi-state dog fighting raid spanning Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and Texas. Nearly 400 dogs were rescued from the dangerous conditions and fatal blood sport.
Thankfully help had arrived. Timmy’s collar and chain were removed, and he was carried out to safety by an ASPCA responder.
A temporary shelter was set up where the rescued dogs were safe and comfortable. There, behavioral and medical evaluations were given.
And of course, Timmy was given the love and care he was previously denied. He received enrichment with our behaviorists and thoroughly enjoyed his playtime.
Timmy was soon ready to be placed in a loving home, and it didn’t take long for this sweet pup to find one!
Here, Timmy enjoys a romp in the yard and shares a stick with his neighbor, a Mastiff.
