By the time we rescued Taco, the 10-pound pup was paralyzed. His cruel and negligent owners no longer wanted him, and so they tossed him out of a moving car like a piece of trash. But Taco is a survivor, and the ASPCA’s medical team refused to give up on him.
After months of intensive medical care—including a long stint in a full-body cast—Taco began a comprehensive physical therapy routine. Slowly but surely, he regained his mobility. Once he was ready, Taco was adopted into a loving home, where he now spends his days snuggling, playing, and, yes, even running with other dogs.
We’ll probably never know who hurt this sweet, tiny dog. But what we do know is that there are people out there like you—people who refuse to stand for this kind of abuse. When you donate to the ASPCA, you are supporting the anti-cruelty work, medical expertise, and adoption services that make us national leaders in animal welfare. Without these things, Taco might not have survived.
We believe that one day, animal cruelty—like Taco’s trauma—will be a distant memory. But until then, we need your support to keep saving lives. Please make a gift today.
