As an animal lover, you likely know the sad truth: Millions of healthy cats and kittens are euthanized each year simply because there aren’t enough families to adopt them. For homeless felines, kitten season—under way right now—is the worst time of year.
Kitten season refers to breeding season, between early spring and late fall, when animal shelters across the country are flooded with homeless cats and newborn kittens, and what happens to many of these babies is nothing short of tragic.
Every cat deserves a home. Sadly, we’re not there yet. But with your help, we’re working to change that. The ASPCA is fighting tirelessly to create new ways to save cats’ lives—using new technology, creating life-saving programs and conducting cutting-edge research. We’ll never give up.
You can help. If you are thinking of adopting a cat, now is a great time to do it. If you’ve ever considered fostering a cat or kitten, please contact your nearest shelter to volunteer. Your help is desperately needed.
And if you can, please consider giving to the ASPCA today. Together we can rescue animals in every state from homelessness and cruelty.
