Have you been described as full of life? Do you enjoy hopping out of bed and going for a brisk morning jog? If so, Yobi may be your man. This big, energetic boy isn’t a big fan of city life and is looking for an experienced adopter in a suburban home where he can run to his heart’s content!
Big fan of: His people! Yobi can be a little slow to warm up to strangers, but just give him a minute to get comfortable. Once you’re friends with Yobi, you’re friends for life. It’s impossible to miss just how happy Yobi is when he sees one of his buddies, as he sprints right over with the biggest, goofiest smile on his face! If he really loves you, Yobi may even jump up to give you a hug. Give him some good ear rubs and Yobi will definitely be in pup paradise. To Yobi, the only thing better than some time with his friends is time where he can get moving! Yobi is a highly active guy who enjoys anything and everything that allows him to burn off some energy. He was reported to be a great running buddy by his previous owner, and he’d love to keep up with his fitness—and perhaps help you with your New Year’s resolution—in his new home!
Working on: His doggy social skills! Yobi reportedly loved going to the dog park with his previous owner, but he does have some issues when it comes to seeing other large dogs while on leash. He tends to lunge, rear up and growl—but the behavior is short-lived and east to interrupt, and he usually plays well with them once the leash is removed. Yobi is a super smart boy—who’s even reported to be housetrained—and would benefit greatly from working with a trainer who can help him learn how to greet other dogs appropriately.
Dream home: Yobi is looking for an adopter who has experience with large, active dogs like him and understands that he will need time to settle in and become comfortable in his new home. He would do best with children ages 6 and up, and because the big city and seeing other dogs on leash can make Yobi pretty anxious, he should go to a quiet neighborhood with low foot traffic where he isn’t likely to see many other pups. Our Behavior team would be happy to speak with you about Yobi’s quirks and how to best set him up for success!
