Tundra’s looking for a family! A big fan of scratches, treats and generally just being a wonderful, happy lady, Tundra wants nothing more than to get out of the shelter and into a quiet home with humans who will love her endlessly!
Big fan of: Butt scratches! The shelter has been a little overwhelming for this pretty young lady, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned that Tundra really likes, it’s getting some good-old-fashioned scratches on her rump. When she’s really happy with her pets, Tundra pushes her whole body into you—butt and all—while doing a big wiggle! But trust us, Tundra enjoys things other than scratches. Of everything, Tundra’s favorite thing may just be treats! With a very refined palette, this lady really loves chicken. Tundra is willing to do just about anything if it means getting a good snack, so she’d do great with some positive reinforcement training where she’s rewarded with lots of yummy stuff!
Working on: Her doggy skills! Tundra’s had the pleasure of meeting a few other ASPCA dogs while at the shelter—and to be quite honest, she seems much more into people than she does pups. On walks, she tends to stare at, pull towards and occasionally bark at other dogs. We know that Tundra lived well with another dog previously—her mom—in her last home, but her new family should be sure to manage dog-to-dog greetings and find other outlets for her energy besides the dog park. Tundra has also shown us that she’s not a huge fan of city life and all the hustle and bustle that comes along with it, behaving a little fearfully on walks. A home outside the city? Yes, please!
Dream home: Tundra would love a person who understands that, once adopted, she may not show her true colors right away and that it may take her some time to settle in. Small kids and big city life are too much for this gal, so a home with teens and up in a low-traffic area would be great. When it comes to other dogs, Tundra would prefer to live with a calm and respectful pup—or, be the queen of the castle and be the only one around to soak up your love!
