Tomatillo—lovingly nicknamed Tom-Tom—is a sensitive, middle-aged gentleman who appreciates a slow and considerate approach. Tomatillo is nervous in new places and sensitive to unexpected loud noises and sudden movements. He will acclimate best with a slow introduction to his new home which will allow Tomatillo time to gain confidence and show his true personality. While living with his foster caregiver, Tomatillo is reported to have blossomed. He loves to sprawl on the bed and bask in the sun and seeks out his human companion for occasional chin and neck rubs! Interestingly, he can get overwhelmed by too much attention and will make it clear when he’s had enough. Luckily, Tomatillo has no teeth so any nips are just warnings and shouldn’t be cause for concern. Also, his lack of teeth means his tongue sticks out of his mouth a little bit and it’s the absolute cutest thing to see! His foster caregiver tells us that Tomatillo has a mighty appetite and is quite vocal when mealtime arrives.
Tomatillo’s ideal home should prepare to learn his language and patiently provide all interaction on his terms, in short doses. He would prefer a quiet home with children aged 8 and up. If you are interested in adopting Tomatillo, we welcome you to fill out our Cat Adoption Survey.
