Smore has been with us at the ASPCA Adoption Center for quite some time, and the longer he’s here the more staff and volunteers fall in love with him. A sensitive kitty, Smore can be pretty nervous in new places and around new people. With time, Smore slowly begins to show his true personality—playful! When he isn’t busy relaxing in his favorite cozy nooks, Smore loves greeting his friends by hopping down from his favorite hiding spots and rubbing his face on everything in sight. He’s an expert at turning anything he can get his paws on into a toy—throw one past him, and Smore happily runs after it with the goofiest little jump! Smore is a big fan of wand toys and, once comfortable with his human, never passes up the chance to bat at one. If he’s having a particularly good time, he may even let you hear his amazing purr!
Smore is looking to go to a quiet, adults-only home with no other animals and an experienced cat adopter. His adopter should understand that he will need time and confinement to settle in and should be willing to put in a little work—with things like yummy food and playtime—to build a bond with Smore. Smore has had some trouble with his litter box habits in the past, but our Behavior team has found a setup that works well for him and would be happy to provide details to help set him up for success in his new home. Come meet Smore today to see if he’s the right fit for you!
