Everyone loves a kitten—but Mexico is a special kitten! When this little man first arrived at the ASPCA Kitten Nursery our veterinarians immediately noticed that both of Mexico’s eyes were severely damaged, and they made the difficult decision to remove them to make Mexico more comfortable and to prevent future complications. But, don’t fret! Mexico has adjusted amazingly to his blindness and has no idea he’s different. Even though Mexico can’t see, that doesn’t stop him from being a spunky little dude who can do everything a “normal” kitten can do. The most impressive thing? Mexico adores playing with toys—even though he can’t see them! Wand toys are definitely his favorite, but he won’t pass up a game with a plastic ball or laser pointer either. When he isn’t busy horsing around with these toys, Mexico can often be found sleeping on the couch, laying in the window while basking in the sun or cuddling in bed with his foster caregiver.

As he’s blind, it’s important that Mexico’s adopter give him time to learn his way around his new home and keep his food, water and litterbox easily accessible. But otherwise, Mexico is just a normal kitten looking for a special person to give him a chance! He would love an adopter who’s ready to look past his medical uniqueness and love him for the sweet little kitten he is.
