BEEP, BEEP, Buick’s here! There isn’t one member of staff at the ASPCA Adoption Center who hasn’t fallen head over heels for Buick. This sweet, 11-year-old gentleman spent almost his entire life living with just one family—and now, he’s ready to find a new, loving home where he can spend his golden years chirping away, rubbing on people and getting lots and lots of love. Buick ticks all the boxes for a cat who is bound to make a wonderful companion. As soon as you walk in the room—whether you’re a friend or a stranger—Buick greets you with a cute little chirp that actually sounds more like a croak! As soon as you sit down, you can bet that Buick will be begging you for attention. According to those who know him best, Buick has many tricks up his sleeve when it comes to asking for love. One staff member even describes Buick as “like an elderly dog” when he wants pets. "He sits there with sad eyes and places one longing paw on your knee, begging for scratches!” Or, Buick will rub up against your legs over and over to make sure you know that he’s there and that he loves you very much. Buick revels in gentle rubs along the head and is more than happy to curl up at your feet as you work. And, don’t think that Buick doesn’t have playful side just because of his age! Pull out anything he can chase—like a wand toy—and you’ll be amazed at just how athletic this dapper man can still be. If you still need more cute facts about Buick to help convince you how great he is, here’s another—sometimes Buick likes to entertain himself by making waves in his water bowl!
Just like people, kitties also sometimes have changes to their health as they get older. Buick has chronic kidney disease, which isn’t uncommon in older cats. He will need to be on a special prescription diet for life, and our Matchmakers would be happy to speak with potential adopters about how to manage this condition. But trust us, the little bit of extra work is absolutely worth it, because we know that Buick would make such a wonderful, gentle companion to anyone who’s willing to give him a chance. He’s charmed everyone he’s met at the ASPCA, and we’re confident he’d do the same to you. If you’re interested in learning more about or adopting Buick, please fill out our Cat Adoption Survey.
