ASPCA Pet of the Week: Sassy

Thursday, July 10, 2014 - 11:00am
Black and brown cat laying in bed

Sassy is a sweet and sensitive feline who enjoys gentle attention from her favorite people. This long haired beauty is very mellow and can be shy when she first arrives at her new home—let her sniff your hand before petting her, and before long, she’ll happily let you pet her face and head. Once Sassy is comfortable in her new surroundings, she’ll give you lots of kisses to show her affection!

Sassy would thrive in a quiet home with an experienced adopter. With the right introduction, we think she would get along just fine with a calm and friendly feline friend! This pretty lady is also looking for a new family willing to maintain her coat and keep it free of mats with a daily grooming routine and periodic visits to a professional groomer. To ensure optimal health, Sassy requires a special diet to prevent kidney stone development, but our medical team is available to walk you through her health needs. Adopt Sassy today!

Sassy is available for adoption at the ASPCA Adoption Center. If you are interested in adopting, please call our Adoptions department in New York City at (212) 876-7700 ext. 4120. To learn more about Sassy, please visit her profile page.

Sassy, you are a gorgeous, long-haired, soulful movie star of a cat. How beautiful you are. I love your name, but I think you are a sweet, loving and sensitive girl -- with just a dash of sassiness. I hope you find the perfect home very soon, sweetheart. I am sure you will.

Sassy's face is so sweet & hopeful for a loving family! I pray she finds the right home!

What a sweet girl. I wish that I could adopt her! I hope that she finds the loving home that she deserves.

Judging by Sassy's picture, it looks like she may have some Maine Coon in her - look at the ear tufts and the fur around her neckline. I've got a Maine Coon mix and she is the sweetest, most gentlest feline on the planet! She knows she's a Diva too, LOL! She gets along just fine with her adopted brother who just walked into my home one day from the feeding station on the porch and never left! How lucky am I? Wishing Sassy the bestest, most wonderful, fur-ever home and soon!!!

Yes, yes, I think you are right, Gail. Sassy definitely has Maine Coon in her. Gorgeous breed of cat.
