Meet Charlie! Charlie is a very shy boy, but he’s the perfect cat's cat! He can be very skittish around people and feels more comfortable around other cats than he does around humans. He absolutely adores his foster family's three-year-old and four-year-old cats as well as his two siblings, Augustus and Veruca. He has even tried to befriend his foster family's 16-year-old senior cats, but they're not all that interested in their younger counterpart’s playful advances.
Charlie prefers attention from humans on his own terms. While he will interact with you if you have toys for him to play with—like coil toys, bottle caps and wand toys—or treats to win him over, he would much rather be playing with his cat buddies.
Charlie has made a lot of progress since he first came into our foster program, and his foster mom has worked every day to build his trust. He can sometimes still run away when you approach him, so an adopter willing to go at his pace is key. Overall, Charlie just likes to hang out in the same room as you, observe what's going on around him and play all day with his cat buddies! Our Adoption Team would love to speak to potential adopters about how to help Charlie adjust to a new home.
Charlie would do best with a calm and patient adopter who understands that he will most likely never be a lap cat—and that’s okay! Instead, Charlie would be an ideal match for someone looking to adopt a feline friend for their current cat or kitten. Charlie may not want to be your best friend, but he will provide hours of entertainment and snuggles for your resident cat!
