Christina, Waffle & Pancake
Adoption Center since 2013
“People always ask us why we decided to get rats,” says Christina. “My answer is, ‘why not?’ Rats are smart, trainable, loving and cuddly.” Christina and her husband adopted Waffle and Pancake in May of 2013, when the rats were about nine months old. They had been rescued from a neglectful owner, and though they were undersocialized, they had made great progress at a foster home in Maine. To help with their shyness, Christina used positive-reinforcement training to bring them out of their shell. “Waffle and Pancake have grown to love us, and we love them!” she says.
