The Results Are In: Subaru “Shares the Love” in a Big Way

For the ninth year in a row, the ASPCA was selected as one of four national charities to participate in the Subaru Share the Love Event, which ran from November 17, 2016, to January 3, 2017. This year, Subaru set no limit on the total donation to all charities—resulting in a record $24.8 million donation from Subaru and its retailers, the largest ever! The ASPCA received a record-breaking $3.2 million, thanks to ASPCA supporters and Subaru owners across the country.

Also, for the fourth consecutive year, Subaru encouraged local retailers to select a local Hometown Charity to participate in the campaign. The ASPCA provided grant funding to 75 animal welfare organizations to host a one- or two-day Share the Love event with the support of their local Subaru retailer.

These grants funded 116 Share the Love events, which drew more than 8,000 reported attendees and resulted in nearly 1,500 adoptions. In addition, more than 7,000 shelter “wish list” items were collected and over $45,000 in cash donations were raised for the ASPCA shelter grantees.

This is great news for animals and their new owners in communities across the country!

Thank you to Subaru of America and Subaru owners for your continued dedication and support of the ASPCA—and for the thousands of animals that you have helped through the annual Share the Love Event!
