Do You Know a Heroic Pet, or a Person Who Has Made a Big Difference for Animals? The ASPCA Wants to Hear from You!

Attention, animal advocates: If you know an exceptionally talented or heroic dog or cat, or a courageous human being who has significantly improved the lives of animals, the ASPCA wants to hear from you! We are seeking nominations for our annual Humane Awards, which will be accepted now through June 14, 2017.

Awards will be given in the following categories at our Humane Awards Luncheon on November 16, 2017:

  • Dog of the Year: For a dog who has performed a heroic act in the past year.
  • Cat of the Year: For a cat who has performed a heroic act in the past year.
  • “Tommy P. Monahan” Kid of the Year: For a child age 14-or-under who has rescued an animal or helps make the world a kinder place for animals.
  • Public Service Award: For a public service officer (Firefighter, Law Enforcement Officer, Military Officer, etc.) who has made a heroic effort to save an animal’s life in the past year or has demonstrated a commitment to animal safety throughout his or her career.
  • Equine Welfare Award: For a person who has worked towards the well-being of horses and is committed to improving their quality of life.
