What's New?
Philadelphia: Supermom Takes on Philly!
When Gwen Cohen’s 15-year-old pit bull, Winnie, died last year, she decided to honor her dog’s memory by helping other shelter dogs, especially pits. Gwen found her niche as a regular volunteer at the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
Spokane: Success Story: Half In, Half Out
Days after losing Katie, their 13-year-old dog, Barbara and Steve Smith visited Spokane’s SpokAnimal care and control facility just to feel what it was like to be near dogs again. Little did they know they would encounter Jack, a handsome five-week-old puppy found wandering alone in a nearby parking lot.
Austin: The Woman Behind The Wags
Kathy Girling made sure that the Austin Humane Society’s “Rags to Wags” fundraiser went off without so much as a whisker out of place!
Gulfport/Biloxi: Success Story: Boy Toy
Easy Boy wasn't exactly the poster child for adoptable pooches when he first came to the Humane Society fo South Mississippi (HSSM). The elder pooch wouldn't even raise his head when someone came to the door of his run.
