Before the third season of TLC’s Extreme Couponing premieres on May 28, we’re issuing a challenge to animal lovers everywhere: Use your bargain-shopping skills to help your local animal shelter!
The fact is many animal shelters are in constant need of supplies. Purchasing items will not only help their daily operations, but also improve the lives of animals in their care. So, go ahead, whip out your scissors and start clipping coupons (and shopping!) for shelter pets!
What Should I Buy?
Most shelters could use…just about everything. While it’s best to reach out to see what specific goodies are on their wish list, the following items are sure to be a BIG help to animal shelters everywhere:

From chewies and plushies to rope toys and tennis balls, shelter animals need to play, too! Help put a smile on their furry faces with these special treats.
Pet Care Supplies
Almost every shelter could use more leashes, collars, cat litter, litter boxes, stainless steel bowls and scratching posts!
Pet Food
Consider using coupons to get food at discounted prices. You may want to check with your local shelter to find out if their animals are fed only certain brands—and don’t forget the treats!
Pet Bedding
Want to help shelter pets sleep more soundly? Towels, blankets, rugs and pet beds are all great options to keep them cozy and comfy while they snooze.
