Video: Inside Look at Massive Dog Fighting Bust

Rescued Dog

As many of you know, last weekend the ASPCA and responders from The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) removed more than 360 dogs from dog fighting properties in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and Texas. Many are emaciated, with scars and wounds consistent with dog fighting. They’re spending their first days learning what it’s like to receive adequate care.

The dogs and puppies are safe now. They’ll never suffer in extreme heat without access to water. They’ll never be chained to cinder blocks and car tires again. And they’ll never be forced to fight.

Right now, the ASPCA is providing shelter, veterinary care, healthy food and much-needed attention and affection to hundreds of dogs and puppies. Our work is far from over. It’s a massive undertaking that will require months of food and supplies and man hours to ensure these dogs get the best possible care. Veterinary professionals, behavior professionals and so many others will be involved.

Please take a moment to watch and share our rescue video. You’ll see some of the dogs we rescued, as well as the real conditions these dogs were forced to endure.

Stay tuned to aspcarescue.org for more news to come. Follow the conversation on Twitter using hashtag #367rescue. If now is a good time for you to give, please consider making a gift to the ASPCA.

It is sometimes difficult for us to keep our sprits high, especially when we see such evil. I have been rescuing cats, dogs, and all other creatures since I was a child. I will continue to do so for as long as I live. The fact that some humans find pleasure in the suffering of animals only makes me more determined to stop as many cruel acts against animals as I can during my life. ASPCA is a wonderful organization but they simply can't be everywhere, all of the time. I urge everyone to continue to donate to ASPCA but also to do your part to stop animal abuse.

Thank you for what you do and continue to do - with these videos, I'd like to see the names of the people responsible published so we can spread the word.

God bless all of you for all you do to save these precious souls from a life of undeserved pain and misery. It is a shame that the people responsible for this can't be sentenced to the same kind of punishment. Maybe they would learn something from it.

You didn't do so well on the last huge dog rescue. Please make sure they ALL are kept alive and NONE are euthanized. I applaud your efforts as long as these abused dogs are saved. There are many rescue organizations who will step up to take these dogs. Cesar Milan (Dog Whisperer) has successfully rehabilitated pits before and the Michael Vick dogs went to forever home. Don't give up.

Thank you! I hope the ones running this and betting on them are destined for a lifetime of what they were offering these poor babies. Bless you all

This is why the ASPCA is named in my will. God Bless You and the work you do!

This makes me so angry. I am so glad you worked so hard to save these dogs. I only hope they all find the loving homes they deserve and do not end up in shelters! Please keep the community updated and rescues too so we can network and find these fur babies homes!!!

Thank you so much for all that you do and i thank GOD for people like you.And i think the people doing this should be euthanized and never see light again. The world would be a better place with out people that harm animals.we can do with out these kind of people.we want and need and love animals. Animals are healers these kind of people are hurting animals and don't need to live another day in this life.
