ASPCA Pet of the Week: Dream

Thursday, November 14, 2013 - 11:15am
Happy white dog wearing orange sweater

Dream is a cuddly and playful pup who’d love to be your best friend. He’s a low-key dog who enjoys going for walks and would love to spend quality time at home on the couch with you.

Dream has special needs, and he needs a patient adopter to love and take care of him. He has diabetes, and requires injections twice daily.  We know that adopting Dream is a significant financial and time commitment, but this little dog has so much love to give in return. He’d do best in a teens-and-up home with experienced adopters and without other dogs around. Adopt Dream today!

Dream is available for adoption at the ASPCA Adoption Center. If you are interested in adopting please call our Adoptions department in New York City at (212) 876-7700, ext. 4900. To learn more about Dream, please visit his page.

Wish you could adopt them all? There are other ways to help. This holiday season, do the next best thing for homeless animals by making a gift to the ASPCA.

He is so cute and adorable. I will love to adopt him but I have a Chihuahua at home. My Chihuahua Buttons doesn't know of how to play with other dogs as I have him for four years. If I can't adopt Dream. I do strongly hope that someone out there will be able to of very soon. Least he should be able to celebrate the two main Holidays and for everyday to share his life with his new owner.

Oh Dream, I wish I could come and adopt you! I will ask my parents but gill then don't give up hope!

How precious. I hope that someone will give him a good home and a good life. If I had the means I would.

I live in a 500 square foot condo with 3 cats. I wonder if adopting Dream would be too much? ANy input?

I would love this sweetheart, but this hits too close to home. I lost my rescued girl this past January, also with diabetes. I was doing insulin shots twice daily, but she developed an infection that, even with intravenous antibiotics, she just couldn't overcome. The worse the infection was, the more out of control the diabetes became. It was heartbreaking and excruciatingly painful to go through.

In February, I adopted a chihuahua mix from another rescue group. She is Heaven sent and brings us immeasurable joy. She loves playing with other dogs and I am open to another adoption and Dream would have been a perfect fit. God Bless Him.

I am from North Carolina and I would love to adopt Dream like right now, he is so cute and I know he is a sweetie but I do have a dog(shizuh) named Benji and a cat(tabby) named Wednesday. But if I could get him i would and wldnt mind taking of him with his diabetes, that would be no problem at all. If I can get him please email me back at [email protected]

Would love to have him. Just lost my baby of 15 years. I am in Alabama so makes it hard to get him.

I would gladly adopt Dream. He is so cute. I have a Yorkie, Shorkie. and two cats (Copi and Pepper). The two cats and Shorkie are rescues (sort of). They all get along and they sleep in bed with me. FYI, they usually end up with more of my king-sized bed than I do. If I can't adopt him, I would certainly take him in as a foster until he gets a home. Let me know how you are making out with him. I am a nurse and would certainly have the capability to care for him.

I will take him but I am in Illinois how much does it cost
