Now Recovered from Starvation and Wounds, Briana Is Ready to Go Home!

Guess who just became available for adoption?? Briana, the starving, injured German Shepherd mix who was found tethered in a yard back in August.

Here’s what Briana was dealing with when she came to us: starvation, dehydration, flea infestation and, perhaps most horrifying, a deep neck wound from a collar left on so long it became embedded in her flesh.

Briana recovered beautifully over several months, revealing herself to be a mellow, soulful lady who loves to play with toys and receive attention from people.

Know anyone who’d be interested in ringing in the new year with a loyal companion like Briana? Check out her page for more info.

This resilient, amazing pup deserves to learn what a loving home is like.

Can’t give Briana a home but still want to help? Donate to the ASPCA before January 1 and you’ll receive a 2012 tax break.

There are children that starve to death everyday in this country. Kids that are beaten everyday. And u people spend your lives saving dumb animals. U should all be ashamed!! How about spending your money and time helping at homeless shelters or battered shelters, actually helping people in this world we are blessed with. Wwjd

Thank you, ASPCA, for saving the life of and caring for beautiful Briana. There is no greater calling than caring for the voiceless animals who are often at the mercy of cruel, ignorant humans. May Briana find a wonderful home soon. May she be loved, cared for, and protected. Praise and gratitude to the ASPCA.

She is a beauty. Thank you for helping her get well. I know you all will help her find a wonderful home. Thank you so much!

God created both man and creatures with the intention that both would coexist! Unfortunately, man turns on man as much as man turn on animals. For those individuals or organizations that give a damn, whether for neglected, abused, or starving human beings or animals, take the time to say thank you. Each person has the right to believe in a cause. If you really want to be productive, the "SHAME ON ALL OF YOU" IMBECILE, perhaps you should shut your mouth and get involved in your community so you are too busy to make rude comments to the ASPCA supporters. God, if you insist on bringing religion into the equation, wants his children and creatures to be cared for equally in their time of need. It's people like you that make the world the miserable place that it is. You want to push your ideology in our faces and tell us that we're committing sin for not sharing your belief system. There's ONE God, and you're not him. You don't get to judge anyone! I'm not sure whom you believe in, but it isn't God; God doesn't believe in suffering. Clearly you do where animals are concerned. Fortunately, today's Sunday - Pray for your maker to educate you so there's one less buffoon roaming the Earth!

I will not feel any shame for showing love and compassion to a living being asking to receive it. Most animal lovers, are good to any and all in need. Compassion can define a person, wether that be towards "dumb animals," or dumb people."

Yeah coz your clearly doing so much good for the world by spending your time telling people off instead of getting off your lazy ass! Why not spend your time constructively, this is a beautiful story and the world needs more positives. Fullstop. Animal abusers are proven to abuse children, did you contrubute to stoping that? Eeek what an ignorant comment, Im ashamed for you.

What an awful person to write "Shame on all of us" just for helping poor Brianna. I work in animal rescue and I believe I am helping God's creatures, after all HE created them. We have a lot of awful people in the world who abuse and hurt animals and they need help because they don't have a voice. I have seen a lot of hard things, things I wish I would never have seen that will be forever embedded in my mind, because someone was cruel to an animal. I think the person who commented needs to get a life. Shame on YOU!!!

LJP

Why does helping animals preclude helping children?
I have adopted children, served on boards for agencies
helping children. I also rescue animals and think it is a
worthy cause. Any time suffering of any kind can be
alleviated it should be done God knows there are enough
occasions to do so. God bless you. :)

I hear this kind of shameful response from people occasionally. My response is always the same. If everyone did something to help out whether it's kids, elderly, animals, environment, etc. , the world would be a better place. Then I always ask, Where do you help out? And the answer is always the same.... "um um um" . That usually shuts them up.
