Video: Inside Look at Massive Dog Fighting Bust

Rescued Dog

As many of you know, last weekend the ASPCA and responders from The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) removed more than 360 dogs from dog fighting properties in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and Texas. Many are emaciated, with scars and wounds consistent with dog fighting. They’re spending their first days learning what it’s like to receive adequate care.

The dogs and puppies are safe now. They’ll never suffer in extreme heat without access to water. They’ll never be chained to cinder blocks and car tires again. And they’ll never be forced to fight.

Right now, the ASPCA is providing shelter, veterinary care, healthy food and much-needed attention and affection to hundreds of dogs and puppies. Our work is far from over. It’s a massive undertaking that will require months of food and supplies and man hours to ensure these dogs get the best possible care. Veterinary professionals, behavior professionals and so many others will be involved.

Please take a moment to watch and share our rescue video. You’ll see some of the dogs we rescued, as well as the real conditions these dogs were forced to endure.

Stay tuned to aspcarescue.org for more news to come. Follow the conversation on Twitter using hashtag #367rescue. If now is a good time for you to give, please consider making a gift to the ASPCA.

Thank you for all you do on behalf of animals....If we treated these criminals the same way they treat animals, the problem would cease to exist.

Laura

This is so true.

This is another sad example of what you find, and will continue to find, because the penalties do NOT fit the crime. Michael Vick, for one, is back collecting the obscene big bucks of professional sport. His punishment was basically a "slap," some community service and an apology? I don't think so. If Vick is sorry, then I am the tooth fairy! People who would inflict this sort of inhumane treatment on dogs, or condone and support it, are a danger to other humans. This has been suggested, along with more severe penalties. Don't see much else happening, do you? Thanks to the ASPCA for this one.

I watched the video and cried. Thank you ASPCA and the Humane Society and all those volunteers and rescuers who found them and saved them from an existence that is too horrible to contemplate.

Please donate to save more lives and to also help all those who were saved in this heartwarming raid.

To those horrible non-humans who bred and promoted such cruelty, I hope that your prison time is long, horrific and painful beyond anything you could possible imagine. You should rot for eternity.

Why must such terrible things happen? I don't understand how these people sleep at night, eat, care for their families and look at themselves in the mirror without having horrible nightmares! Doesn't such cruelty affect them? Are they monsters? These beautiful dogs deserve loving homes and wonderful lives. Thank you for rescueing them. I could never stand to see that. You are so strong. I can only donate. I hope it helps. Thank you.

You are angels of DOG!
Thank you!

Dayna

GOD BLESS YOU ALL. YOU ARE ALL ANGELS SENT FROM HEAVEN. JUST THE LOOK ON THEIR FACES SHOULD TELL EVERYBODY THAT THEY KNOW EVIL AND PAIN.
TEARS OF SADNESS RIGHT NOW, AND TEARS OF JOY.

It is this type of cruelty that I have no words for. I am grateful to all of you who save them. Thank you. Unfortunately, I dream of chaining the people who do this to the empty "dog houses" you leave behind - with the same lack of caring they gave these dogs. Our laws regarding cruetly to animals are far too subtle.

Debra

My heart breaks for these little babies, but I am so elated to hear that they are no longer living in such terror. May God bless each one of them and every single person who dedicated time and effort to free these little angels. I pray that the people responsible for such cruelty never have the opportunity to hurt another animal (or person for that matter) again. This was not just a job well done, but extraordinarily done!!!

Dane Cramer

Great work, I just hope some of the adult dogs can be spared not just the puppies. This is exactly why we donate to you guys! God Bless and keep up the great work.
