Video: Inside Look at Massive Dog Fighting Bust

Rescued Dog

As many of you know, last weekend the ASPCA and responders from The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) removed more than 360 dogs from dog fighting properties in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and Texas. Many are emaciated, with scars and wounds consistent with dog fighting. They’re spending their first days learning what it’s like to receive adequate care.

The dogs and puppies are safe now. They’ll never suffer in extreme heat without access to water. They’ll never be chained to cinder blocks and car tires again. And they’ll never be forced to fight.

Right now, the ASPCA is providing shelter, veterinary care, healthy food and much-needed attention and affection to hundreds of dogs and puppies. Our work is far from over. It’s a massive undertaking that will require months of food and supplies and man hours to ensure these dogs get the best possible care. Veterinary professionals, behavior professionals and so many others will be involved.

Please take a moment to watch and share our rescue video. You’ll see some of the dogs we rescued, as well as the real conditions these dogs were forced to endure.

I agree 100% These type of people need to see and feel what they have put these innocent little creatures through. Also, humans are the ones who have domesticated these wonderful creatures and now these awful, heartless people want to turn it around for their own benefit. They should be put away and shown time and time again a video of what they have done to them so that they will never forget what they have done. I am very grateful to ASPCA for the wonderful work they do for God's wonderful creation.

As always with these videos, I got teary-eyed and filled with the mixed emotions of pain and joy as I saw the conditions in which they were living, but at the same time, the wonderfulness of their rescue. Dogs in particular are so noble and forgiving. They start wagging and respond to a kind touch even after all the trauma they've experienced with humans. I just want to commend the ASPCA and all of the organizations out there dedicated to helping all the other animals survive in the world of the human animal that can be so cruel and UNforgiving. You have my sincere admiration, respect, and support. I can't donate a lot of money, but I am a $12 monthly donor and will try and give more whenever I can. Thank you for keeping hope alive.

So thankful for the ASPCA!!
They should take all the owners and attendees of the fights and make them fight to the death like they do the dogs! And if they refuse to fight then electrocute them until they do. Treat them like they treat these animals and maybe all the fighting would stop!

I agree, the punishment should fit the crime. Instead the criminals will get a slap on the wrist and go on to get a million dollar contract to play football!! The part I find the saddest is, why didn't I see or hear of this on any news?? Am I living under a rock or was the media sleeping in my part of the world? I comment those at the ASPCA for all they do, Thank you so much!!

I agree with you....Vick should have stayed in jail. They should put people like these under the jail not in it....jail is too easy for them. Some of these dogs have known nothing but anger, pain and hurt. Now maybe they can find and know love. God bless you people for your selfless work.

I agree with you Joe, sadly they will allow Vick to be forgiven for evil cruel killings, but yet Paula Dean is being crucified by the Media for a case (of a comment she made years ago) that was thrown out of court. The Media need some real animal activists to step up.

Becky Washing...

Joe you hit the nail on the head. Totally AGREE. Million dollar football A..H.. and those who supported his *escape from justice* are JUST as guilty in my book.
THANK YOU ASPCA. Its a heartless selfish world these days, except for YOU.

I agree with Joe also, These people need to be treated just like they treated the dogs. And Vick should still be in jail, but now he has even been allowed to own another dog. I was under the understanding he could never own another Dog, but he does. But thank God for the ASPCA they are a god send for the animals and I donate every month and more when we have it. I do have 4 dogs to vet and feed and 3 cats and they are all rescues. Wouldn't have it any other way. Love the animals.

Mary Pit Rescuer

No, Joe you haven't been living under a rock. The media needs to be educated. They just fuel the Pit myth. Other dogs attack too, but they just sensationalize Pit attacks. Anything to up the ratings.

THE REASON THIS KIND OF NEWS REMAINS ON THE BACK BURNER IS BECAUSE THE OF MEDIAS COVER UP OF OUR PRESIDENTS LIES AND MISS DEEDS....A DOGS LIFE IS NOT AS IMPORTANT AS THE MEDIAS FILTERING THE NEWS ABOUT OBAMA, MS HILLERY, HOLDER, JACKSON, SHARPTON, ETC
