Video: Inside Look at Massive Dog Fighting Bust

Rescued Dog

As many of you know, last weekend the ASPCA and responders from The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) removed more than 360 dogs from dog fighting properties in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and Texas. Many are emaciated, with scars and wounds consistent with dog fighting. They’re spending their first days learning what it’s like to receive adequate care.

The dogs and puppies are safe now. They’ll never suffer in extreme heat without access to water. They’ll never be chained to cinder blocks and car tires again. And they’ll never be forced to fight.

Right now, the ASPCA is providing shelter, veterinary care, healthy food and much-needed attention and affection to hundreds of dogs and puppies. Our work is far from over. It’s a massive undertaking that will require months of food and supplies and man hours to ensure these dogs get the best possible care. Veterinary professionals, behavior professionals and so many others will be involved.

Please take a moment to watch and share our rescue video. You’ll see some of the dogs we rescued, as well as the real conditions these dogs were forced to endure.

Stay tuned to aspcarescue.org for more news to come. Follow the conversation on Twitter using hashtag #367rescue. If now is a good time for you to give, please consider making a gift to the ASPCA.

I can only pray pray pray these dogs end up in loving homes. I also pray that those involved in this cruelty get serious punishment but we know they won't. I can't say how much heartfelt thanks I have for the ASPCA, what God sends you are to these wonderful animals. Bless you!!!

I like Pauline's comment - we can't stop trying to dismantle this. Sure, I'd like to see these people forced to fight to the death, but we all know that isn't really going to happen. We need to help these idiots into channeling the efforts to something constructive.

The main thing I'm wondering is whether these bastards will be prosecuted to the
FULL extent of the law !! This isn't the first occurence of this type this year !!!!!
I live in Mississippi and we've had this happen earlier this year. HSUS handled that
one. ASPCA is absolutely great !!!!!

Thank you ASPCA you have stopped these people from doing more harm to these dogs I hope they are all brought to justice and will face jail ( it should be prison time ) for this cruelty to these dogs and also large fines and what ever else would be right for such people, keep up the great work and God Bless you all for what you have done to make this a better world and you have for catching these people, I am sure there are many more out there I hope you catch them all one day and take them off the streets so we do not have to look at them.

To watch these video's are very hard. I've spent my life trying to help out animals, watch for any kind of abuse, rescue and find homes for as many as I can and have adopted strays into my home. I commend the ASPCA and all the people who work to prevent abuse, torture, and bring animals the hope and love they deserve. Although I'm on a fixed income, I try to send support as much as is possible. I wish I could do more. My prayers are with all the creatures put on this earth that their lives will be filled with love and those who bring them harm be punished to the full extent of the law. Thank you ASPCA!

The ASPCA will euthanize all these dogs.

Thank you so much for your tireless work for these voiceless animals.
The little pups wagging their tails as the rescuers walk with them under their arms..is priceless and says it all from their perspective. They are thankful you are there for them....

These sick people are clever and they hide what they do. I would lock them up and throw the key away. As for the laws, we all have the power to change them. Pay attention when you vote. Contact your State representatives to let them know you want tougher jail sentences for anyone involved in dog fighting. Spectators, handlers, foster homes for the puppies, everyone. All their possessions should be confiscated and turned over to help pay for the care of these dogs. The offenders should be left penny less.
