For the seventh year in a row, the ASPCA has been selected to participate in the Subaru “Share the Love” event, which kicks off today, November 20, and runs through January 2, 2015. For every new vehicle sold or leased between November 20, 2014 and January 2, 2015, Subaru will donate $250 to the purchaser’s choice among four national charity partners or local Hometown Charity selected by participating retailers, with a minimum guaranteed donation of $250,000 to each national charity.
Since 2008, Subaru has donated more than $9 million to the ASPCA through this event, thanks to all the Subaru customers and ASPCA supporters, like you, who chose the ASPCA when they purchased or leased a new vehicle. Now, you have the chance to support and spread the word for us once again this year!
Please help us spread the word about the ASPCA’s participation in the annual Subaru “Share the Love” event! Bring a friend along to an adoption event near you, tweet a photo of you and your pet using the hashtag #aspcaSTL, and be sure to tag @aspca and @Subaru_usa.
Television actress Sarah Hyland visited New York City this week to kick off Swiffer’s year-long campaign to help the ASPCA find homes for animals in need. On Monday, Hyland had the opportunity to interact with multiple adoptable dogs and tour the ASPCA Adoption Center.
Hyland also helped to host a pet appreciation party, which featured adoptable pets, in Manhattan on Tuesday with Swiffer and the ASPCA. There she shared her about her personal experiences with her dog Barkley Bixby by her side.
The event was a celebratory culmination of the ASPCA’s Mega Match-a-thon adoption weekend that took place from October 17-19 at shelters nationwide, and resulted in 4,865 cats and dogs finding new homes. During Mega Match-a-thon, Swiffer gifted each adopter with a new Swiffer Sweeper, and participating shelters received one of the brand’s Big Green Boxes full of its cleaning tools.
Lifestyle brand Alex and Ani and its charitable division, Charity by Design, have created a new charm design in support of the ASPCA! Part of Alex and Ani’s Charity by Design collection, the “Prints of Love” bangle features a paw print shaped charm and is available in both Rafaelian Silver and Rafaelian Gold. The ASPCA will receive 20% of the proceeds from each sale to support our lifesaving work for animals across the country.
Our long-standing supporter Fresh Step litter is ramping up its commitment to the ASPCA and shelters across the country with the launch of its Million Meow Mission to help shelter cats in need.
As part of the program, Fresh Step has revamped its Paw Points® rewards program to give shoppers the option to donate their accrued Paw Points to a local shelter or rescue organization of their choice. In turn, these shelters can redeem the points for free liter, toys and other products that help homeless cats lead happier, healthier lives.
The ASPCA Adoption Center is also eligible to receive Paw Point donations. All points will be used at our shelter and new neonatal kitten nursery, and as part of our Safety Net programs to help keep more cats and kittens in their homes, off the streets and out of shelters.
You can participate and learn how your points can make an important contribution to a local shelter or the ASPCA by visiting the Paw Points rewards page.
