In conjunction with Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, Ralph Lauren has collaborated with the ASPCA to create The Dog Walk, a short film featuring rescue dogs from the ASPCA and the designer's Fall 2013 accessories collection. The film takes you on a virtual dog walk through the streets of New York City and Paris, with a few fun surprises along the way.
From October 15 to November 15, 10 percent of the purchase price of select accessories and dog apparel* featured in the film will be donated to the ASPCA to support and raise awareness for shelter dog adoptions. We're pleased to announce that all of the shelter dogs who starred in the film have since found forever homes and are thriving with their new families!
October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, and just in case you didn’t already know, we LOVE shelter dogs! This month celebrate your rescued pooches by posting their cutest pics on Instagram with the hashtag #ShelterDogsRock!
Not only will your photo will be showcased on Instagram, but we’ll also feature it in a special tab on our Facebook page! On October 31, we’ll choose our favorite shelter pup photo (never an easy task) and announce the winner on November 1.
What does the winner get? You’ll receive an ASPCA “I Love My Shelter Dog” jumbo tote full of delicious Walkers Shortbread Cookies (yep, those yummy, doggie-shaped butter cookies!).
So grab your phone, grab a photo, and show us your dog’s good side—and don’t forget to use the hashtag #ShelterDogsRock!
Shopaholics and animal lovers rejoice! Women’s retailer Anthropologie is hosting its annual Sit. Stay. Love. campaign, a pet adoption event and pet supply drive for animal shelters across the country, the weekend of September 20-22. All 180 Anthropologie stores across the U.S. and Canada will host events and, with our support, strive to break adoption and donation records from last year.
Now in its fifth year, Anthropologie’s Sit. Stay. Love. campaign has resulted in hundreds of dog adoptions and raised thousands of dollars in supplies for local shelters.
For more information about Sit. Stay. Love. and to find an event near you, visit Anthropologie.
It’s nearly impossible to begin a new school year without laying out some cash—but the good news is that when you shop for everyday necessities, you can raise money for the ASPCA at the same time!
When you use the online shopping portalWe-Care.com to shop at your favorite stores, the ASPCA automatically receives a donation at no cost to you. You can find outfits and bookbags, of course, but from computers to eyeglasses, so many other back-to-school items are carried by We-Care’s merchants—the site also hosts more than 10 textbook sellers!
You can sign up for our We-Care.com secure browser extension here. It takes less than a minute to set up, and once you do, a reminder will let you know when you’ve visited a participating merchant’s website.
Thank you for thinking of animals while you shop for your family. This support has made a real difference for the ASPCA!
Attention cat lovers! If you’re a fan of all things feline, we know you’ll be excited to hear about the Feline Arts Council, a new program from our longtime partner Fresh Step cat litter.
The Feline Arts Council, comprised of some of the utmost authorities on creative cat creations including ASPCA cat expert Eileen Hanavan, is on a mission to promote the paw-sitive representations of cats in mainstream culture. The Feline Arts Council will bestow its seal on America’s top purr-worthy products, which will be donated to the ASPCA and sold in our Online Store.
To kick off the program, the Council selected a handmade sterling silver cat ring, designed by Catherine Dmitrieva, owner of the Etsy shop KatStudio. The proceeds from each purchase of the limited-edition ring, available here in sizes 5-9, will benefit the ASPCA.
