When she first arrived at the ASPCA, Yola was very withdrawn. It took her a little time to come out of her shell, but as she warmed up, her playful nature came shining through. Now, this short haired beauty keeps our Adoptions staff laughing with her funny antics—like rolling into her blankets like a burrito!
Yola is still a sensitive girl, but once you’re her friend, you’ll see that she would like nothing more than to curl up by your side for some quality relaxation and plenty of head scratches. This sweet girl would do best in a quiet, adults-only home with an adopter who will let her settle in at her own pace. Adopt Yola today!
Yola is available for adoption at the ASPCA Adoption Center. If you are interested in adopting Yola, please call our Adoptions Department in New York City at (212) 876-7700 ext. 4120. To learn more about Yola, please visit her profile page.

Ursula is a sweet dog who has a lot of love to give! This pretty girl may be shy at first, especially around stangers, but once she gets to know you, she’ll never leave your side. With the help of her favorite toys, she’ll soon warm up for plenty of playtime with her new family.
This smart pup already knows how to sit and she’d be thrilled to have you teach her a few more tricks, too. Although Urusla loves her human companions, she may benefit from training to help improve her manners. Ursula would do best as the only dog in a home with teens-and-up. Adopt Ursula today!

Every now and then, we come across special adoptable pets that need a little extra help finding a home. This week, we’re shining our Adoption Spotlight on Kissy, Jack and Janet—a trio of playful Akitas who are sure to make their future adopters very happy!
Kissy, Jack and Janet came to the ASPCA after being rescued by the Oregon Humane Society from a large, commercial breeding facility. Their life in the facility had left them terrified of human contact, so they were sent to the ASPCA Behavioral Rehabilitation Center in Madison, New Jersey. Over their four-month course of treatment, each dog’s sweet and special personality began to shine through. At the Rehab Center, they learned how to enjoy everyday activities like going for walks, being pet, coming when called and—most importantly—trusting humans again. Now these loving pups are ready to find their forever homes:
Kissy is a curious 5-year-old girl. She may be shy at first, but don’t let that fool you—this pretty lady would love nothing more than to play with you and her favorite squeaky toys! Kissy likes to play with other dogs and would be thrilled to go home with a patient adopter who can love and care for her.
Looking for a goofy, but clever, new best friend? Jack is your guy. This sweet boy loves going for walks and playing with his favorite toys. Jack loves his dog friends, but may need some training to help improve his manners.
Janet is an energetic girl who loves snow and zooming around a fenced yard! She can be reserved around new people, but this curious girl will warm up for walks through the woods with her new family. Janet likes other dogs and would love to go to a household with a dog friend she can play with.
These sweet dogs have been through a lot and they have so much love to give. They would like nothing more than to find forever families to call their own. If you’re interested in adopting or want to learn more about Kissy or Jack, please visit www.bigeastakitarescue.net or call (609) 388-7004. Roxy is a very friendly cat who loves her favorite people. This sweet girl may be shy when you first bring her home, but don’t let that fool you! With the help of some yummy treats and her favorite toys, she’ll be asking for plenty of snuggles in no time.
Roxy likes to have your attention all to yourself and would prefer to be the only cat in a quiet household. This pretty lady has a medical condition that requires a special diet, but our Adoptions team can give you tips on how to manage her health needs. Adopt Roxy today!
Roxy is available for adoption at the ASPCA Adoption Center. If you are interested in adopting Roxy, please call our Adoptions Department in New York City at (212) 876-7700 ext. 4120. To learn more about Roxy, please visit her profile page.

Every now and then, we come across a special dog who needs a little extra help finding a home. This week, we’re focusing our Adoption Spotlight on Dash, a friendly 4-year-old pup who is ready to find his forever family.
Dashcame to the ASPCA in April 2014 after being rescued by the New York City Police Department (NYPD). Over the course of the past year under our care, Dash has become a staff favorite and has bonded with many of our Animal Care Technicians (ACTs). This lovebug is currently thriving as a foster in the home of ASPCA Veterinarian Dr. Jasmine Bruno, but he is eager to find a “forever home” to call his own.
Dr. Bruno reports: “Dash is an incredible dog who I would say is the perfect definition of a ‘gentle giant.’ All he wants is a companion that will give him the same amount of affection that he gives non-stop. He gets along great with cats and loves meeting new people and dogs, although he can be a little shy at first. His perfect day at home would consist of spending time sleeping on his favorite pillow, gnawing on his bully sticks, going for nice long walks in the park and playing with his rope toy.”
If you’re interested in adopting Dash, please call our Adoption Center in New York City at (212) 876-7700 ext. 4120. To learn more about Dash, please visit his profile page.
