Spice Finds a Home for the Holidays!

For two years, Spice had been in our care, recovering from extreme neglect.  This sweet and social young dog longed for a family of his very own, but couldn’t seem to find one.

This month, we launched a special campaign to help get the word out about this energetic pup. We’re happy to announce that on Christmas Eve, Spice received the greatest gift of all—a loving home. Two brothers made the trip from New Jersey to adopt Spice after a friend shared his photo on Facebook.

So many people had a hand in finding Spice a home, including the Animal Care Technicians who nurtured him to our media team who helped promote his story. But we couldn’t have done any of this without your support. Thousands of you shared Spice's photos and story on your social media channels—and it made all the difference.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. Please consider making a last minute, tax-deductable gift to the ASPCA. Together we can help more homeless animals find the loving homes they deserve.

Spice, baby, I was looking for your photo on the "Dogs for Adoption" site and when I didn't see it, I held my breath. Now I am reading this fantastic news. Oh, I am so happy for you, Spice. You deserve all the happiness and fun and good care in the world. You have patiently waited for your new home and now you have it, in Jersey, no less! I bet even Gov. Chris Christie is thrilled for you!

Thank you to the compassionate and kind brothers who made the trip to NYC to meet and open their hearts to Spice. Guys, you are blessed. Nothing but joy all around for you.

Happy New Year, Happy New Home to Spice and his new family. Thrilling, good news with which to begin 2014. I love you, Spice.

I also looked but didn't see Spice's name under Adoptable dogs. I am so happy you finally found a home -- you definitely deserve it. I hope you and your new family have a wonderful time together.

From California, I am so happy for Spice. 2 years in a shelter, to me, is just crazy, and I thank the ASPCA for keeping hope alive and for not putting him down. Those two brothers are heroes. I have 2 yellow Labs and just saved a Chihuahua, age 1 1/2. We, as a society, all need to step up and help these poor dogs and cats. I also have 2 cats :) Anyway, bravo for Spice!
