Slideshow: Dogs Rescued from Fighting Ring

Earlier this year, the ASPCA assisted in a three-state dog fighting bust alongside the FBI, Missouri Highway Patrol and several other agencies.

When we found these dogs, many were doomed to live their whole lives tethered by heavy chains—and on the day of the raid, many were left outside to suffer through a blizzard.

Today, after months under the care of our behaviorists, veterinarians and tireless responders, dogs rescued from this raid are thriving. In fact, some have already headed to rescue for adoption! Still others remain in our care.

We wanted to show you some of these dogs’ happy faces and thank you for helping us make their rescue possible. We couldn’t have taken on this massive operation without your help!

I have been associated with ASPCA for over 50 years. I came from NYC so I in their facility on numberous occasions. They even treated my dogs on an emergency basis from time to time. I truly believe that I would not be the animal volunteeer that I am today if I was exposed to the caring and wonderful treatment that they gave to ALL ANIMALS. Soemtimes I feel that the worst thing that has happened is our means of communication false statements people can make without any backup and how is spreads like wild fire.

Do people believe everything they read just because it's in print? On Fecesbook, of all places?! Perhaps there's a more reliable source for your information. You can't believe everything on the internet (no, really)!

What kind of moron are you? The ASPCA is the greatest organization going. If you paid as much attention to the reports on what they really do you would never ask such a ridiculous question!!!! Donate monthly & start getting their newsletters.

The good work ASPCA does is well documented...by everyone who deals with them from rescuers and vets to official agencies that work with them. People post all kinds of trash on Facebook just to cause mayhem. And then kind people like you believe it and a really worthwhile group misses out on the donations they so greatly need to operate. The dogfighting people and the puppymill people and the less than ethical farmers...all of them have a reason to malign this group. I suspect someone like that started the rumor you read on Facebook that was probably posted by someone who saw it and just repeated what they saw. ASPCA has been around for a long time. Its easy to check out. What about the person who posted on Facebook? Ask them for their source. And please don't stop giving to ASPCA...I never will. The animals need you.

Beware of No Kill Nation. They LIE out of one side of their mouths and ask for donations out of the other side. ALWAYS ask for a list of rescues that they have run (0 as far as I can see) and how many bad laws have they been instrumental in repealing (0 as far as I can see) and how many good laws for animal welfare have they fought for and gotten enacted (0 as far as I can see). If you ask how much money they have taken in, I bet you won't get a satisfactory answer to that question either!

That's so ridiculous I can't understand why you would believe it.
Also euthanasia is not performed with gas, couldn't you do the most minute research for your own independent thought process?

I have a rescue and I work with them in my area. I have not witnessed anything like this or anything wrong with the organization here
