The ASPCA is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case of four newborn kittens found with their throats slashed. An additional $1,200 is being offered by the Suffolk County SPCA, the local animal-protection agency leading the investigation.

According to Suffolk County SPCA reports, the bodies of the four kittens—estimated to be three weeks old—were discovered on October 1 in the parking area of a business in Riverhead, New York.

“This is a truly sickening case of violent, heartless abuse,” says Stacy Wolf, Senior Vice President of the ASPCA’s Anti-Cruelty Group. “We hope the reward offer sends a message that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in our society. We thank the Suffolk County SPCA for its commitment to finding justice for these four innocent kittens.”

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Suffolk County SPCA by calling (631) 382-7722.

Please be vigilant in your community and report suspected animal abuse. Visit our Fight Cruelty section to learn which agencies are responsible for investigating and enforcing anti-cruelty laws in your area.

That is mean whoever did it must have a cooooold heart

If you want to stop this kind of cruelty, you laws have to change. Many of the cases like this one are perpetrated by people under 18yrs whose records are locked, and will never receive the correction, or mental treatment the they need to make a change in their way of thinking. Our kids are growing up much earlier in these violent times, they act like adults at a much younger age, and are more callous in their thinking. An adult who abuses animals can go to jail. A person under 17yrs will slip through the system, and never be taught that his behavior is wrong, and just keep doing it. If we want to change this type of cruelty, we need toi open our eyes and do away with locked Juvenile records so that they can get the help that they need. My heart breaks for what those poor helpless kittens suffered.

I wish I knew who did this. If I did though I wouldn't even keep the cash, I would give it right back to the ASPCA so that they can protect other helpless other defenseless animals, like any other good person would do.

I have a really hard time getting my mind around what makes these people tick. You see it in the news constantly and if you ever watch the videos of pig slaughter and horse slaughter and cows being abused and neglected and slaughtered in the most horendous ways and on and on these people really seem to enjoy hurting and maiming and watching and inflicting all this pain and suffering and agony these poor animals must endure before their untimely death

As for those little kittens I hope they can find out who did this terrible thing and that they are punished to the extent of the law but I won't hold my breath even if they find them most likely they will get a slap on the wrist and walk away. We need stiffer punishment for these creeps when will the right people sit up and take notice people that could actually make the changes.Soon I hope

Terrible, only 2500. Let me know when you catch. I'll take care of him for free, serious

I have to make a persuasive essay for my english class and I am doing something I do think animal abuse should be banned and I need opinions for it. What is your opinion on animal abuse? What are reasons why people think it is okay to abuse animals? do you think animal abusers deserve to have the same thing done to them that they did to the animal? please answer these.

i'm hoping someone does the same thing to him & leaves him in a parking lot w/his throat slashed. we need an animal vigilante. something like Charles Bronson's character in the movie "Death Wish"
