Shame on Aflac for Letting Duck Loose in NYC Subway

We loathe giving Aflac any more media attention than they have already received, but we can’t keep our mouths shut about the recent PR stunt they pulled. If you haven’t yet heard, Aflac recently let a duck loose into a busy New York City subway station and began tweeting about it, ruffling our feathers in the process! The duck, representing their famed mascot, drew quite a bit of attention—but at what cost?

NYC subway stations are noisy, crowded, and let’s face it, pretty dirty places. The hazards that could have harmed our small feathered friend are too numerous to count. We’re appalled that Aflac would pull such a stunt.

Do you think this PR stunt went too far? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

I am so so sure that the Aflac company really did not need that PR stunt to ensure them new customers.....infact i'm sure it probably has cost them a few....me for one!!!! I hope for they're sake they are never treated as barbaricly as they treated that poor animal or maybe that infact should be they're punishment. Kinda like an eye for an eye and let them see how fairly they think they've been treated!!!! Aflac i sure hope u know that karma is real and that you sure have some bad karma to pay!!!!!

Can we please just leave animals alone to live in peace. I am so sick of people/companies using these innocent beings for whatever they feel like!

I hope AFLAC goes out of business. Okay, not really because of their employees, but c'mon AFLAC. Seriously? Poor duck, he can come to my house and live out his days in splendor.

Do you know what could have happened to this poor animal @aflacduck??? This is beyond bad taste, it's cruelty!!! Shame on you Aflac!

See this just shows that some people do NOT need to have or be around any kind of animal,Even if they have the money. I agree with Laura put them in the situation see how they fill about it.
Way to go ASPCA to bring this to the public eyes, and THANK YOU for the GREAT work you do for animals they need it.

Yess it did..that poor duck got so confused and scared...people should not be doing this only to get more money.

Life means nothing ..... it's all about the almighty buck. The moron who came up with this idea would probably place his own kid in such jeopardy to promote him/herself and earn a bit more cash!

The poor little guy must have been scared. Subways are noisy and crowded. Ducks really are peaceful.

Have your PR people lost their ever-loving minds?? I will make sure that if I ever consider using any of your insurance services I will keep your utter disregard for living, breathing things in mind!! What an incredibly stupid stunt!
