The ASPCA is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in a shocking cruelty case in Kinston, North Carolina, involving rabbits. The victims were allegedly skinned alive, and one was also decapitated. This reward is in addition to the $1,000 currently being offered ($500 by the Lenoir County SPCA and $500 by a private donor).

“This is an unconscionable case of violent abuse that was committed with an extremely high level of depravity,” says Stacy Wolf, Senior VP of the ASPCA’s Anti-Cruelty Group. “While our ultimate hope is that these types of heinous acts never occur, we hope that the rewards being offered serve as a message that cruelty toward animals will not be tolerated in our society. We thank the Lenoir County SPCA and local authorities for their commitment to finding justice for these two innocent rabbits.”

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Kinston Public Safety Tips Line at (252) 939-4020.

Please be vigilant in your community and report suspected animal abuse. Visit our Fight Cruelty section to learn which agencies are responsible for investigating and enforcing anti-cruelty laws in your area.

awh these poor bunnies... id like to point out that they do the same thing in the fur industry to dogs bunnies and minks and seals ..... it sickens me that we as humans dont find this grotesque abuse and ban it from any practice in our culture

Julie

I know these 2 fur babies are hopping around Rainbow Bridge Happily & Healthy now. Hate the fact that they did have to suffer & Pray the ignorant abusers are brought to justice. If not on this earth...... they will be Judged !

Nancy

Be wary. people (if you can call them that), they are really monsters, will mostly grow up to do similar or worse things to humans!

Jane

People like this do not deserve to be on this earth.I will NEVER understand why people hurt defenseless animals. I guess it must make them feel pretty big .They are scum, and should stay in jail for the rest of their life!

I think the world is full of sick freaks, we are living amongst them. I hope karma strikes these weirdos with some kind of slow painful cancer or there are die a slow painful death in a horrific car accident. Jail just isn't enough for these psychotic losers.

I agree with Angel. I had a pet rabbit and they are so gentle and fun, his name was Rusty-Rabbit. He died years ago but I still think of him every day. I picture someone doing this to my Rusty-Rabbit that had the chance to die of old age and it makes me sick. What is wrong with the world !!!!!

Anna

there really needs to be something done to enforce strict penalties on animal cruelty, a slap on the wrist and a fine does nothing to these sick "people" who insist on hurting animals of all species for there enjoyment. any person who hurts a animal needs to die, they are a waste of space, air and food.... get rid of them!!!
