Though Hurricane Sandy seems like a long time ago to many of us, many of those who lost everything to the storm are still just beginning to piece their lives back together. At the ASPCA, we’re still working with animal welfare groups and individuals who suffered as a result of Sandy, and less than a month has passed since our special facility for Sandy pets closed.

Since then , we’ve seen many Sandy strays find new homes and hundreds of Sandy pets reunited with their families. (To see some of those, visit our Facebook album of reunion photos.)

If we could tell you all their stories, we could, because if you give to the ASPCA you’re responsible in part for each one. For now, we’d like to tell you one—Magnus and Aheber’s. Please watch their video to see how you helped them.

Thank you for giving to the ASPCA and helping us help animals like Magnus. If you’re not already a member, please consider making a gift now. You’ll help us be prepared to go wherever animals need us, whenever they need us.

This story just touched my heart. If that gentleman was displaced in sandy and needs an apartment. I have several available and will take his sweet friend.

I'm glad he hadaplace to keep his fog till he can find anew home, but you could see the sadness in his eyes. It brought tears to my eyes. I hope they can be back together soon.

this video brought tears to my eyes-a lucky dog to have such a devoted owner, and a lucky man to have such a devoted dog.

I want to say thank you to the aspca for providing these families an option through the hard times. Also I want to say, thank you to this Magnus's owner for remembering this wonderful soul even through hard times. Really, many owners abandon pets when going through hard times. Also, you are the living proof that no matter what breed the animal is, an animal raised in a loving caring home is a loving caring animal. You can see that this dog was raised with so much love and gentleness. Many people should learn from you!!! I pray for the two of you to be reunited very soon! you both deserve to be with each other!!!

I would like to know the final outcome of this wonderful relationship of Magnus and Ahebar. Please post more about this story as time goes by. Thank you! It is very touching....

Thank you ASPCA for all the wonderful work you have done in assisting both human and animal victims of Sandy. I wish I had the money to donate but sadly that is not the case. We do have 3 rescues and I would highly recommend to people that they explore this route when they want a new furbaby in their lives. PLS also remember that senior dogs bring so many special rewards to the families they adopt :)
Hope to see a follow up when Magnus gets to finally GO HOME.
