It’s Confirmed: Michael Vick Has a New Dog

Friday, October 12, 2012 - 5:45pm

It’s confirmed: Michael Vick has a new dog. To truly become a model of the type of behavior Vick wishes to teach his children—that animals deserve to be treated with compassion and respect—Vick should take the opportunity to “break the cycle” and “be an instrument of positive change” by expressing remorse about the dogs he brutalized and killed with his own hands. This is something that we’ve never heard him do publically.

Because of this, we have serious concerns about Vick’s ability to be a responsible pet owner. We can only hope that he will set the right example for his children by teaching them to foster humane habits and a lifelong bond with their family pet.

What’s your opinion?

Well........I wouldnt trust him with any animal. He says he sorry about it but no. Hes sorry he got caught. They need to do a welfare check on this dog at least once a week. Oh and i am diehard Eagles fan but i dont agree with this.

The innocent dogs that were brutally killed and used for intertainment and money have no second chance. Vick wouldn't show this facade of being "sorry" if he wasn't caught. How can you say Vick paid his debt to society? What about the innocent lives of those dogs. Can you put a price on their lives!

Now what happens if this dog does something that would upset Michael Vick such as having bathroom accident in the house, do we have to worry about any harm coming towards this dog? Mr Vick admitted to throwing a dog against the cemented floor killing the dog cause the dog lost a fight. Or how about him saying that he hung a dog from a tree? He shouldn't have gotten a dog or even being accepted back in the NFL. He should be treated the way he treated those helpless dogs, and suffer like they did.

I do not believe that Vick has any remorse for his deplorable actions toward the dogs he murdered and horribly abused. Some people think he has reformed and he should be given a chance, well all the pitbulls and other dogs he tortured and killed should have had that other chance too. I believe Vick will portray to the world a "I have reformed" face but we can't see what goes on behind closed doors. I am praying daily for that poor defenseless dog he has now, as should everyone else who has a heart.

HE SHOULD HAVE A MONTHLY VISIT AT HIS HOUSE TO INSPECT THE DOG, ACTUALLY YOU PEOPLE SHOULD TAKE HIM AWAY FROM THAT KILLER!!!!

They should treat this like a parent who just got their kid back from foster care. Frequent check ups on the dog. I am hoping the fact that this is his children's dog he wont lapse. But someone needs to check up on him. I don't think his kids should be denied a dog because their dad did something terrible but he should be supervised.

I have no issues with a gentler breed of dog that is a family pet for his children. With as many animals that are put down humanely or not, this is a save for a pet that until it ever goes awry, is a win-win situation here.

Who in there right mind would give this man a animal...they should also be brought up on charges!!!! probably bought it from a puppy mill...Good God there should be laws against this!!!!

I think that even though Mr. Vick apologized for the evil that was once inside him, I dont think he should be able to own another dog. Changed man or not.
