It’s Confirmed: Michael Vick Has a New Dog

Friday, October 12, 2012 - 5:45pm

It’s confirmed: Michael Vick has a new dog. To truly become a model of the type of behavior Vick wishes to teach his children—that animals deserve to be treated with compassion and respect—Vick should take the opportunity to “break the cycle” and “be an instrument of positive change” by expressing remorse about the dogs he brutalized and killed with his own hands. This is something that we’ve never heard him do publically.

Because of this, we have serious concerns about Vick’s ability to be a responsible pet owner. We can only hope that he will set the right example for his children by teaching them to foster humane habits and a lifelong bond with their family pet.

What’s your opinion?

Michael vick should never be allowed to have any animal in his posession ever! He can teach his kids about animal cruelty a different way than having an animal in his care. Maybe by telling his kids what he did. Honesty might be the best policy.

Here's my thoughts on the whole thing: http://brianadamspr.wordpress.com/2012/09/16/cheering-for-vick/

you,ve got to be kidding me.this man is a moster and he will never change. paid his debt my ass. he lost nothing. he is back in the nfl, back to his normal life while those poor animals are dead. no one should be allowed to do what he did and then be forgiven just because he is a big name. i hope he rots in hell.

How dare he? how dare the courts allow him to own any other dogs? hes already showed his absolute disrespect he has for dogs. and now hes allowed to have more. people who abuse animals dont 'understand' being an animal lover... cause they are not. they are animal haters... what makes himself think he has changed??? obviously this greatly upsets me...

Correct me if I'm wrong but it was ruled he was to have no more dogs, contact with dogs, anything with dogs. I worked public safety for 20 years and it sickens me that we still have the best judicial system in this country money can buy. No one can convince me he was able to do this without paying someone. Please say you'll be monitoring him the best you can? I'm very worried for that poor fur baby.

Does anyone know who was dumb enough to let him adopt from them? Did someone else adopt the dog and give it to Vick? If so, that is a breach of the adoption contract and the dog can legally be taken away from him. Why is THIS information not being disclosed to the public? This shelter/rescue/dog store must know that they WILL go out of business because no true animal lover will ever support them again!

That man does not deserve the right to own another dog. Who can forget the horrendous acts of violence and the brutal killings he alone performed? He should have been chained and been used as bait for those he made to fight, which has given Pit Bulls the bad name. Pit Bulls are not mean its jerks like Vick that gives breeds a bad rap...
