Three adoptable ASPCA dogs featured on the Today Show

Lights, camera, action! If you watched NBC’s Today Show this morning, you probably saw a segment featuring three newly famous ASPCA adoptable dogs: Wishbone, Nautica and Bam Bam.

These adorable pups made their TV debut for a segment with hosts Kathie Lee and Hoda, and taste-tested homemade dog meals from veterinarian and talk-show host Dr. Katy Nelson. They were joined by U.S. slopestyle ski competitors Joss Christensen, Gus Kenworthy, Nick Goepper—recent gold, silver and bronze medalists, respectively.

All three dogs are at our New York City Adoption Center waiting to find their forever homes. If you’re in the New York City-area and are interested in adding a furry friend to your family, view our adoptable dog profiles here!

I am always PRO adoption efforts..I just am amazed that they would use three people who were just in a place that executed dogs for the sake of this Olympic event...hmmmm.we are a very strange species indeed. Oh right everyone has forgotten that!

Lela

Thank you to the atheletes who cared enough to save some animals..who needs a gold medal they already have a heart of gold!!!! please go to shelters and adopt animals!!! they will love you forever:)

Lori

I wish I could adopt one, but can't with 4 cats. Any chance there is a way to donate towards them finding a good home?

Greg Smalley

As the article notes, all 3 pups are "ASPCA" dogs, not Sochi dogs. ASPCA has confabulated (intentionally or not) the public concern for the stray dogs of Sochi who are being systematically killed to make the Olympic venue "more attractive." Although it is always great to feature adoptable dogs in major media outlets (like NBC has done in the past with their "Bow to Wow" segment on Today before they cancelled it) there are hundreds of adoptable dogs available to NYC-area residents through New York City Animal Care & Control. The neediest of these pups are featured on Urgent Part 2:https://www.facebook.com/Urgentdeathrowdogs

If I had the money, I would pay the plane ticket an adopt that beautiful pit bull. I really hope they find a very good home for the baby.

Joan

He doesn't need a ticket! He's in NY!

What a beautiful story. It takes a tremendous amount of work, money and red tape to rescue a dog from another country. If you ever read about the dogs brought back from Iran & Afghanistan you'll have your eyes opened. In this day & age, with so many kids wandering around uselessly, spending time & money on drugs and worse, these young athletes are HEROES, who's hearts were touched seeing the despair in Russia and taking it upon themselves to do something about it!

Zay

Wonderful rolemodels for all youngsters! Thank you and God bless.
