After a video of a Brooklyn man brutally kicking a cat was posted to Facebook last week, animal advocates alerted authorities, leading to the arrest of the man in the video footage by the New York City Police Department (NYPD).

Representatives of various animal welfare organizations, the Mayor’s Alliance and the NYPD worked together to locate the injured cat, named King, seen in the video. The NYPD transported King to the ASPCA Animal Hospital (AAH) to undergo emergency veterinary care.

King is currently recovering at the ASPCA Animal Hospital and will continue to receive treatment and close monitoring as he heals. It is still too soon to discuss a timeline for King’s adoptability.

This case reinforces the importance of reporting animal cruelty in a timely manner. To report animal cruelty in New York City, please dial 311 or call 911 to report crimes in progress. Please visit our Report Animal Cruelty page to learn how to report cruelty in other areas.

Animal cruelty is a crime in every state—if you see something, call 911. Please join our battle against animal cruelty today!

Can I join all the REAL people who want to Kick ASS? It just amazes me that people think this is funny!!! And the one who did the video!!! They both deserve the beating AND jail time. A LONG, LONG TIME. But I know that won't happen

Kathleen Malone...

Aside from agreeing with a lot of folks that the asshole deserves to get kicked 20 ft in a tender spot--we all need to work hard to change animal cruelty/abuse laws in EVERY state so they're no longer slap on the wrist stuff but heavy fines and real jail time so they think twice about screwing with defenseless animals! No more perps walking away scott free from animal abuse any more!!!

Shawna

We all must fight for stricter laws that would enforce felony charges on these human animals.

Kim Volkmar

I totally agree, Shawna!

These idiots are stupid dumb #f..cks who have no life...a couple of loosers that no doubt have no life and and just mean, nasty, stupid dumb asses. I hope someone beats the sh..it out of them. Or better, puts them out of their miserys and beats them to a pulp. Two less loosers in this world!! Get rid of them..

Mary

The two creeps should be kicked where it hurts.Thank you to NY for searching to take are of this wonderful cat. Just puzzles me why anyone would want to inflict pain to any animal. Get both of them to pay for the vet bills also.

Brad

Right on Suzie. Needless to say, I'm with you guys wanting to beat the tar out of the guy who did the kicking. I hope "Mr Giggles" gets the message when he sees his buddy get prosecuted (hope they throw the book at him) & changes his mind if he's had any thoughts of doing the same.

I'm WITH all of you who want to see this MAGGOT get what's do to him, and I'm SURE that if he does any time in jail, that other inmates will give him what he deserves, as there are some things that prisoners DON'T accept, and animal cruelty is one of them. If he unfortunately doesn't do any time, he better move to a place where he's NOT known as a cowardly maggot that abuses animals, for he'll SURELY be recognized, and someone will KICK the shit out of him..! I'd give most anything to be in on giving this bastardly coward what I THINK he deserves, and the part of the anatomy that I THINK deserves my BEST shot..!!!

Larry

Its a good thing that I'm not a Judge in one of those animal courts. They would either clear out some room in our prisons or put our tax dollars to better work and build some new prisons just for the low life people that would do this to a defenseless animals .
