We are devastated to report that a three-month-old Pit Bull puppy named Joey was thrown from a car in Brentwood, Long Island, on Saturday. A witness found the tiny 10-pound pup in a plastic bag near the Sagtikos State Parkway, covered in fleas and crying out for help. Joey suffered three broken vertebrae in his neck and is recovering at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island.

The ASPCA is offering a reward of $15,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case. This reward is in addition to a $5,000 reward offered by the Suffolk County SPCA. We are also providing a $10,000 grant to the Veterinary Medical Center to offset some of the costs of treating and caring for Joey.

“We were both outraged and saddened to hear about this disturbing case of violent abuse, and the callousness that was demonstrated by those responsible,” says Matt Bershadker, Senior Vice President of the ASPCA’s Anti-Cruelty Group. “While our ultimate hope is that these types of heinous acts never occur, this is a message that cruelty toward animals will not be tolerated. We are pleased to be in a position to help those who are helping Joey.”

If you have information related to Joey’s case, please contact the Suffolk County SPCA by calling (631) 382-7722.

STOP THE STUPID INFIGHTING. It doesn't matter whether these people are natives or transplants and your obnoxious political views are not doing much for this poor animals and animals just like him. How about we just focus on the problem, find out who did it and punish him/her to the fullest extent of the law.

Let us all join hearts right now, and PRAY for little Joey, God's creature, and and the cutie-patootie he is! And remember to pray for Joey's veterinarians, vet techs, and his caregivers, that their hands may have an extra-special touch.
Now a happy story. A guy I see at the park every day walks his little 20 lb. rescue 3 miles, just as I walk my rescues. His rescue dog was also thrown from a car. He named him "Chuck", 'cause he was chucked out of a car. Chuck had a broken leg, but is all healed up and healthy and vibrant as can be! So let's ask for the same for Mr. Joey!!!!

To everyone out there we need to stop talking bad about each other and remember this is about Joey. We should be praying for his recovery and come together against people like this and not fight among ourselves. God Bless you Joey!!!

The demons who did this should be caught by police and given a lesson they'll never forget (like throwing them out of a moving car in a big trash bag!) I have no pity whatsoever for monsters! Will pray that Joey recovers and finds a loving home.

God bless the doctors who are caring for little Joey. The sad thing is that they will probably never get whoever did this. They deserve to die!

God loves the animals and the people that step in to take a stand...Get involved and never turn your head to any type of abuse no matter what.thanks to the person that brought in this beautiful puppy...I hope they find the low life scum that did this and prosicute them to the fullest...I can't belive there are people like this in the world today...Sorry they are not people but monsters that take away precious oxygen on earth they don't deserve to be classified as the human race...Many prayers go out to Joey god bless him as he recovers
