We are devastated to report that a three-month-old Pit Bull puppy named Joey was thrown from a car in Brentwood, Long Island, on Saturday. A witness found the tiny 10-pound pup in a plastic bag near the Sagtikos State Parkway, covered in fleas and crying out for help. Joey suffered three broken vertebrae in his neck and is recovering at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island.

The ASPCA is offering a reward of $15,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case. This reward is in addition to a $5,000 reward offered by the Suffolk County SPCA. We are also providing a $10,000 grant to the Veterinary Medical Center to offset some of the costs of treating and caring for Joey.

“We were both outraged and saddened to hear about this disturbing case of violent abuse, and the callousness that was demonstrated by those responsible,” says Matt Bershadker, Senior Vice President of the ASPCA’s Anti-Cruelty Group. “While our ultimate hope is that these types of heinous acts never occur, this is a message that cruelty toward animals will not be tolerated. We are pleased to be in a position to help those who are helping Joey.”

If you have information related to Joey’s case, please contact the Suffolk County SPCA by calling (631) 382-7722.

I think that the person who threw lil joey out the car in a bag should have the same thing done to them then thrown in jail for life! bless u aspca,i would give money if i could but i'm on disability now&trying to care for my older parents now too, keep up the good work, aspca!

Little Joey looks just like my pitbull puppy when we got her from a neglectful family at only 6 weeks old. Hearing about people doing these things animals is pretty much my worst nightmare. With so many resources out there for an unwanted puppy what would compel someone to do such a heinous thing? Pure sociopathology, a person like that shouldn't be walking the streets and deserves much more than a slap on the wrist. I hope you guys find him and he is prosecuted to the full extent of these and then some! Y heart goes out to little Joey and hope that he will make a speedy recovery into a loving home. Pitbulls are wonderful, crazy, sassy, loving, affectionate family dogs and with your help Joey will experience all of these wonderful things that await him.

Us animal lovers are rooting for a speedy recovery for you Joey.
Bless the heart of all those who are assisting this helpless animal get a second chance at life.
Please go one step further and donate to the ASPCA. Even if it's just $5 a month, it goes a long way.
Animals Rule!

What is wrong with people? How could they do this do a poor innocent animal? If they did not want the dog they had so many other choices, bring the poor dog to a vet, shelter, to throw away as garbage? SICK and MEAN person!!!! I hope they catch this person and they get what they deserve! What is happening to this world we live in?

A constant reminder of how low some people can get. Bless the person who rescued Joey & the various organizations that have come together to help Joey in his recovery & their attempts to find the culprit. I'm sure a lot of people have already cursed this person (should we even refer to Him/her as human). I really wish this person suffers for inflicting such cruelty on a 3months old pup.

To the person or person's who did this dispicable act and you know who you are, you should not be allowed to breath the air of this earth. Karma will eventually catch up with you and pay back from Karma strikes back in a geat force.

Natan and Maxin...

Yeshua said: "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy" (Matthew 5:7).

The converse is also true (speaking of the innocent and helpless); the Jewish Messiah moreover says: "But whosoever shall offend one of these little ones which believe in Me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea" (Matthew 18:6).

His Words ... not mine!

I am just disgusted that a human could do this. I know this loser will be brought to justice and hope that they get the toughest of punishment, hard time, plus fines, you name it. This person needs to be turned in, and punished to full level.

I hope you find a happy, loving home with someone who knows the true joy of having a canine family memeber. Pet's and all creatures are man's reminder that God truly loves us.
