Recently, we told you about Baby, an adorable pup who has been in our care for more than a year and a half. This sweet dog, a victim of animal cruelty, has come a long way since we first met her, and she’s still waiting to find a loving home.

In July 2012, a Good Samaritan found Baby tied to a tree, abandoned in the summer heat. Fortunately, they contacted the ASPCA, and Baby began her road to recovery that day at the ASPCA Animal Hospital.

Dr. Bonnie Wong, the ASPCA veterinarian who treated Baby, recalls that she had a severe neck wound consistent with having a chain embedded in her neck for a long period of time. Baby’s body was in poor condition; she had a skin infection and scars on her face where it appeared other dogs had attacked her. After extensive treatment, including repetitive wound care and antibiotic treatments for her skin, Baby’s condition improved and she was ready for adoption.

Since then, Baby has waited and waited for someone to take her home. In the time she’s spent at our Adoption Center, our staff has grown immensely fond of this “oversized lap dog.” She is incredibly friendly and loyal, and we can’t wait until she has a permanent place to call home.

If you’re interested adopting Baby, please call our Adoptions department in New York City at (212) 876-7700 ext. 4120. To learn more about Baby, please visit her page.

Australian mandatory laws require all registered Pet Rescue organizations to screen prospective animal inquire by property visit correct fencing current or previous animal ownership Veterinary check and two weeks trial that hopefully will be their
"forever" home. Because of cruelty by other canines this poor poor girl needs to be the "only one" allowing her to regain trust in the human race.

Hoping fervently that Fate will be kinder to her in the future. She deserves to find a good, loving, safe home for the rest of her life.

Every dog deserves a home where they will be loved and cherished. I hope the people responsible for the cruelty inflicted on this dog were prosecuted. They should never be able to own another pet of any type!

Baby, I pray the perfect family comes along very shortly and provide you with a loving forever home. You deserve only the best. You have gone through so much. You look like an oversized lap dog and I would love to have you, unfortunately my city and state has breed discrimination and I don't think I could or would pass you off for anything other than what you are. Be proud of yourself Baby, the right family will come along. Bless you baby, the rescuers and your temporary home. The doctors who helped you to get you where you are today.

If you have never adopted a previously neglected animal, you don't know the big secret about them: They will LOVE you with a dedication unlike any other. They will not run away, they will not stray. Once they understand that your home is their "forever home" they will stand by your side and defend you to their death. Nothing compares to the dedication of an animal rescue - they know that you have saved their life and they will never forget it. Treat yourself to a human-animal relationship un-paralleled.

I agree~~We have 7 senior dogs we have adopted~~all w/sad stories. I wouldn't trade them for anything. They are so full of love. If I felt we could take on any others I would but our inn is truly full.

If only I had room for you! what a sweetheart! Hope you find a loving home!

bless your hearts kind people! may your tribe increase so more of these abused animals wl b cared for!

I am a huge fan of pit bulls and pit bull mixes. When they are treated with love and kindness they are the most loving dogs ever! I wish with all my heart I could take her, but I have 4 cats already and I think it would be too stressful for all involved. My hopes, prayers and thought go out to this lovely animal and I hope her forever family finds her soon.

If Only I Lived in New York I would love to have Baby She's So beautiful.
