CosmoGirl Drops In On the ASPCA!

The “A” would like to give a shout out to the animal-loving girly girls over at CosmoGirl magazine. They raised over $2,000 for us by opening up the doors of their prize closet—filled with all kinds of goodies from their corporate sponsors—and selling it all to help us out! Every year CosmoGirl chooses a lucky charity to benefit from this prize closet sale, and because Senior Web Editor Deanne Hess LOVES animals, she chose the ASPCA this year.

Deanne brought two of her summer interns up to our New York City headquarters to deliver the gift. As you can see, they were definitely lovin’ it up with the pooches. The little Jack Russell terrier on their laps is seven-year-old Sorbet, and the snow white pit mix is pretty Pearl. Look how she’s reaching out to Deanne with her left paw!

After hanging out in our adoption facility with all the kitties in Mancattan and the pups on Bark Avenue, Deanne decided to give her CosmoGirl readers a little animal welfare nudge, reminding them not to ignore all the great furry personalities in shelters who are waiting to find families. Says this compassionate young lady, “These dogs and cats need your help, and I urge all of you to consider adopting before going to a breeder.”
