Live Chat with Animal Precinct Cop

She’s got sass and she’s got spunk. You might recall our September chat with Special Investigator Diane DiGiacomo, where she dished the dirt about what life is like on the force. This time she’s back to spill behind-the-scenes-secrets from the filming of Animal Precinct, Animal Planet’s hit reality showfeaturing the ASPCA’s animal cops on the job.

To talk to DiGiacomo live, please join the discussion on the ASPCA Online Community TODAY Feb. 22, from noon to 2:00 P.M. EST.

I am a resident of the state of Idaho, the city of Montpelier. We have no ASPCA,in Bear Lake County.I am an animal lover, and have in the past supported the ASPCA. I heard something, the other day, pertaining to a starving horse. I do not know who to get ahold of, but know that something has to be done, as it is not the first time the same guy, had a very malnutrisioned horse. Which a friend of mine now owns. She has come along way, from what she looked like when my friend got her. But now there is another? Come on , what is wrong with this story? I cannot sit back and know that this is happening. If you could give me any information, as to who to get ahold of, it would be so much apprecited. Thank you for your time, with this matter.
I have watched almost every ASPCA show, last season. And feel that I to can do something to help a poor innocent animal, even though I cannot at this time, donate, as I am only living on a very low income each month. But you can sure bet that when I can help out again, I will! I see a dead animal, on the side of the road, and have to go passed it, with tears in my eyes. what does that say about me?I have had pets, my whole life. But had to get rid of my long little doggie!Because I couldn't bring him here. But he was placed with an elderly man, who lives alone. He is still very healthy, and spoiled!!!
AnywayIf you could help me in anyway, I would be very thankful.
100% Animal Lover,
Carol McLain

I live in South Fl and even though I know there is an ASPCA force in Miami (I saw in Animal Planet) I dont know of any closer to where I live (Palm Beach County).

There is a lady who my mom's work at times that never feeds her animals. My mom used to clean her house so I thought she would kill me if I got involved in it. After her dog died two months ago (I believe from starvation because that was the skiniest dog Ive ever seen) my mom quit and refused to work for them any longer. Since she started working with her she had to dispose of the bodies of turtles, birds, rabbits that kept dying on that house. My mom even started taking food from our cat to theirs because there was no cat food in the house and the amazing thing is this people are wealthy!. And she told me of how everytime she fed them they reacted as if it was their first meal in weeks.

What should I do? I haven't heard from them again but I bet the last time the cat or the birds were fed regularly was when my mom was there. Now that she doesn't work for them anymore I feel I should do something but I dont know who to contact. I feel guilty over the death of that poor dog who could've been taken care of if I had intervened sooner.

I live next door to some people that are starving a poor dog. They keep it in a kennel so it doesn't get any exercise. That dog is fed about a half cup of food twice a week. That might be stretching it in their favor. It's just enough food to keep the poor thing alive. Living in Iowa I surely thought it would have died from the 20 degrees below zero we've had. Sure wished it had, I wouldn't have to worry about it. I called the Animnal Rescue place and they didn't really want to hear about it unless I filed a formal complaint. You see, I can't do that cause they'd come after me, burn my house down, or some such nonsense, but I believe they could be dangerous. They had another little dog that died cause it was on a 5 foot lead and not fed. They also have cats that they used to feed, but stopped since the little dog is gone. I truly don't know what to do, but that dog is determined to live, darn it all anyway. Any suggestions?

Hey, I think what you do is a great thing! I could never do that tho, seeing what some people do yo "their pets" angers me. I am only 13 and in my life i have had 12 dogs, 17 cats, 4 hampsters, 1 lizard, and 7 horses in my life. I love them all dearly. I dont know how much you know about animal behavier (mostly to cats). But I have a cat, her name is Maggie. Maggie for some reason will randomly bite me, it isnt like a little nimble it is a serious bite that brakes skin, and realy hurts!! Any help?

help! A friend collects cats and although he is providing them a shelter and food. He is has them in filth. the litter boxes( all 5) are cleaned 1 time a week and there are 18- 21 cats and kittens. They are not use to human contact and therefore are not adoptable. I am up in the air as to reporting him. What should I do?
