MUST-SEE TV: CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, "LYING DOWN WITH DOGS"
Don't miss this very special episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Focusing on the brutal and illegal world of dog fighting, the episode was created in close consultation with two ASPCA experts considered leaders in their field—Dr. Randall Lockwood, Senior Vice President, ASPCA Anti-Cruelty Initiatives, and Dr. Melinda Merck, ASPCA Forensic Veterinarian and the country’s only “animal CSI.” The pair has assisted in the prosecution of several high-profile dog fighting and animal cruelty cases, including the recent Michael Vick case.
The episode will air tonight, December 13, from 9:00 P.M. to 10:00 PM, EST/PST on CBS. For more information on dog fighting, please visit ASPCA.org.

This episode showed the many cruelties of dog fighting and i hope that a lot of people watched and will help end animal cruelty.
I just must say that that kid was a bigger person than I would have been by putting her to sleep first. Such a sad episode! if you haven't seen it keep checking cbs.com their post full episode by the end of the week! worth watching!
I was disgusted by the CSI episode tonight. Michael Vick's case already brought dog fighting and animal cruelty into my living room for several nights. Now a trusted show has a full blown "how to" on dog fighting on the air and it is sanctioned by the ASPCA. How disappointing!!!!
Showing this to the broad audience did not show people who are dog fighters that this is bad but just disgusted the animal lovers who already want the so called sport stopped!
I am very disappointed in the ASPCA and CBS/CSI and plan to discontinue support for both organizations. I may not have much power or money but we all have friends and computers!
Next time you think something like this would be a good idea, please use better judgement!!!
CSI was sick. The fight scene was wrong and sad. I USED to enjoy the show. I WILL NEVER WATCH CSI OR CBS EVER AGAIN.
I am outraged and disgusted at the details added to the show. Maybe I am wrong, but there is no need to be so explicit when making people aware of animal cruelty. I know that, unfortunately, it's a reality in this cruel world, but I will not watch an episode that portrays animal cruelty in such detail. I have donated to your organization and I am outraged that you assisted with this show. I am very disappointed.
I was very upset at the CSI episode that aired. While I know getting the message out there about dog fighting is important, there should have been a disclosure on before the show aired. I know a lot of people watch the show with their kids and I think that the fighting scene was very graphic...it made me sick to watch..Please let parents know if something like that is going to show. I am a new member because of that show.
Although I was very upset watching the CSI episode, and cried through the entire show I think that it is necessary to get people to really think about what is going on outside of their comfortable livingroom. I have been sending letters to my congressmen and emailing as many people as I can to make them aware of what is going on. I think that you should show the episode again and again until people stop talking about how tragic animal cruelty is and actually do something. Instead of being angry or "disappointed" with the ASPCA or CBS, how about being outradged with people like michael Vick.Think about how "disappointed" the little animals were when they were "training" his fight dogs!
Bennie's mom
Yes, I agree it was tough to watch this episode. However, I love CSI,and will continue to watch it, and support the aspca. If you don't like what is being showed in front of you,you have a choice to change it or watch it. Blaming others for what you choose to do is childish.
I completely agree with bennie's mom. People have to see the harsh reality of dog fighting. If they want to watch something with their kids, CSI is obviously not the right choice regardless if there's any warnings. Disney chanel is probably where you should go. CSI is the only show that airs this, and it will help spread the words. Enough with reality TV shows, this is REALITY!
It is sad to see the truth. We do not SEE the truth when we hear about these cases like Vicks. We HEAR the truth.
Yes it was mighty sad and mighty harsh and fellow animal lovers were outraged even thought it was TV but to imagine that happening (and it is happening RIGHT NOW as I type) all over the world even in the USA makes you feel sickened and angry and helpless and wanting to run out there with a posse of people with weapons and stop it.
When people only HEAR about the terror those dogs go through they are saddened and shocked BUT this episode (as hard as it was to stomach) brought the raw dog deal home to many who were in the "dark".
I'd rather people see the truth about a issue that effects us all than to hear the watered down version of on the nightly news.
Thank goodness these shows also have ratings at the start to warn parents and people that they may not want to watch because of graphic scenes, language, Etc.
I watched the episode and it was one of the harshest things I've seen in a long time. That said, I applaud them for really exposing the brutality - it's awful but nothing hits home like seeing the truth. I have to believe that this show made people think and outraged some who previously didn't give this issue much thought. It was quite intentional that the "victim" was treated the way she treated HER victims (albeit MORE humanely!)
And, please, people - no one should be watching CSI with their kids - ever.
This episode educated me on the need to make the training of animals to fight a felony. I plan on doing everything I can to do this. Thanks to this episode, I have decided to become a part of the ASPCA.
