The Auction Has Begun!
At the beginning of the month we announced the upcoming eBay auction of the autographed Komfort Pets pet carrier. Now that the auction is live, here is the info again:Komfort Pets, the company who brought the first ever climate-controlled pet carrier to market, announced that they will auction off a carrier signed by celebrities. Proceeds from Komfort Pets carrier will benefit the ASPCA!Celebrities had an opportunity to autograph this carrier at the GBK Productions Emmy gifting suite on September 12th, 13th and 14th.

I just started with the ASPCA and would like to help.. I am on disability and I have very little money, but all kinds of time. Having my pets ('kids') is quite a hobby. My animals right now include, my Pekingese, Moxie, who doesnt let me out of her sight, and my big man Rudy, a Persian that I wouldnt give up for anything. He has had many babies and they are all beautiful. One of his babies, Marvin, I felt I had to keep. Marvins baby, Monster is still with us and is a handful for me, but adores my boyfriend. I have a sugarglider, Skittles, and her 'brothers ' were fed on 'Chex mix' and I rescued them, and gave them all of the food that gliders were supposed to eat, but unfortunately, they passed away within days of one another. We did everything we could to save them, and went over the top to hold them and reassure them. They just were not used to decent care. It was only a week ago, and Im still upset about them. Gladly, Skittles has gotten along fine and we are 'expecting'. I have a red eared slider turtle, who Ive had since he was about the size of a quarter. Silly me, I named him 'Yurtle'. I have 3 Zebra Finches, and I just call them all 'Beepers'. I dont know a time when I havent had some. My daughter has worked in 3 pet stores in Augusta Maine, and she was a favorite to all customers. Her knowledge of animals surpassed other workers. She has recently 'blessed' me with a pair of chinchillas, Steuben, and Wrigley who are a riot. I was looking for a female grey Persian female for a girlfriend for Monster, but she came to us with many issues.. she was my second cat rescue. The poor thing had already had one litter of kittens, and she was less than a year old. The 'breeder' who more or less gave her to me, had two house trailers FULL of breeding Persians and kittens. I was so mad at this woman for doing what she was doing. I gave 'Sammy' her shots, and next thing I knew, my puppy was barking up a storm.. I came to see what the racket was, and she had 'saved' one of 'Sammy's' kittens, and she had one other with her. She wasnt really a good mother, but the puppy was...Just recently, I drove about an hour and a half away to pick up a Himalayan...she was a beautiful cat, but was being eaten alive by fleas. I cried the whole time i gave her a flea bath. The dead fleas were falling off her. It was terrible. I put some bag balm and anti itch stuff on her and she seemed to feel better but refused to use the kitty box. She would pee on the floor but used the puppy pads for her other business. I just couldnt believe that a human being could let a helpless naimal get this way. If I hadnt taken her, she surely would have died. Between my daughter and I , we have saved over 20 different species of animals. We once had a 9 foot red tailed boa, but he grew out of his cage and we had to give him up to the 'Snake lady' who lives close to Augusta Maine.
It is a sad thing that there are no organizations in Maine that make sure animals and pets dont freeze in the winter or starve. We have had some horrible situations in this town and all over this State, and I feel we need to help ALL animals not just the ones in other States. PLEASE let's fire up Maine!!!
