See, Told Ya Cats Were Sweet

If you want to know the truth about the mysterious ways of felines, ask your cat. Cat won’t talk to you? Well, neither will ours. We had to settle for getting some info from the second-best source—their human roommates.

Last month, in order to complement the launch of Feline-ality™, the kitty component of the ASPCA®’s Meet Your Match™ shelter adoptions program, we invited cat lovers across the country to take a fun online survey detailing adventures in life and love with their kitties.
Nearly 12,000 people responded, and get this— when 50 percent of pet parents called their cat’s name, rather than yawning, their kitty’s response was akin to: “Here I am, bright-eyed and bushy tailed!”

Harumph. And cats get a bad rep for being aloof. Way to show ‘em, kitties. By the way, it’s much more rewarding when your cat comes running to you than when a dog does. Most dogs will run to anyone, but with a cat—you’ve gotta earn it.

Check out more of our surprising and funny survey findings.

I agree! Everyone says dogs are so much better because they have personality and cats are stuck up. WRONG. I have 5 cats and each one is so unique, with different personalites, different preferences, different likes and dislikes. They are not stuck up, they are choosy. Like you said, you have to earn a cats love. Not saying that dogs aren't wonderful as well. Just that they aren't "better" than cats.

We have two cats at home. And like clockwork every time we come home from work or anywhere else we are met by our eldest at the door. If we come home early or late it doesn't matter, Magic makes it a point to greet us with a loud 'hello' and a head rub against a leg. Jessie, our youngest, rarely makes a move when we arrive. No, he's too modest and expects us to come over and say hello to him. Cats will be cats and the personalities are a wonder.

I have a cat, and she is the sweetest ever. The picture I just saw in this post...my cat does exactly the same! I love that pose. Go Kitty!

I am both, a cat lover and a dog lover. Cats are much easier to take care of. My cat greets me all the time, whenever I'm in sight. I love my little girl very much. She is almost 2 1/2 yrs now. :).

Cats I just love them! They are so so cute and cleaner than dogs. Dogs are not able to keep themselves clean like cats. Cats seem to have a mind of their own and yet they make such good companions. www.kittycatjoy.com is a website dedicated to all cat lovers and their felines.
