Good News, New Mexico--Cockfighting Banned at Last!

The cockfighting bill passed the floor vote of the House and was quickly signed by New Mexico's Governor Richardson on Monday! New Mexico now joins 48 other states in outlawing this cruel “blood sport” (Louisiana is the sole remaining holdout). New Mexico residents, please take a moment to thank Governor Richardson for signing this important bill.

Just a quick note to let all know that Animal fighting is now a Federal felony.

Reps. Elton Gallegly, R-Calif., and Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore. introduced the legislation and the President signed it into law yesterday.

I believe the NFL should now be watched carefully for dog fighting. Michael Vick, Portis and Samuels all seemed to think it was just fine to do this and knew a lot a out it. Watch the news on Michael Vick and hope they come up with enough evidence to prosecute him. We all know he was aware of what was going on. His pit bull breeding license was used and noone has over 50 pitbulls and 20 beagles around for pets. And, noone has dog fighters training equipment around for decor.

Does anyone know what is being done to help prevent the dogs confiscated in this case from being euthinized? I'd like to help or donate money.

I was extremely happy to hear that the federal authorities filed indictments against MICHAEL VICK!
As an animal lover and an avid NFL fan I believe that the NFL commissioner should suspend VICK immediately!!
Just another example of what these overpaid morons do on their off time.
The crimes against those dogs were unexcusable!! Some days I believe in an EYE for an EYE. Today is one of those days!!
