Four years ago my family and I were on the way back home from grocery shopping when all of a sudden we drove to this intersection where we saw this adorable cute but filthy puppy just crawling around. We stopped the car and I (the passenger) opened my door and called it over to me. It hesitantly came to me and jumped into my lap as if it already knew me. Nobody was around looking for it and it had a red collar on it but no tag or liscence so we didn't know who to call. We took it home but noticed that it was limping big time so my daughter and I gave it a good bath and took it to the vet but we had to walk it there (my husband left to work already). EVERY TIME (!) it saw a large vehicle it cried and tried its best to run away in the opposite direction so that told us that something was really wrong! The vet told us that a vehicle hit it cause its entire pelvic area was fractured!!! He told us not to allow it to run and only walk it one or two times a day for a few weeks. It was so hard not to play with him ball or any other way...it had to rest. It gets me so infuriated when I find stray dogs or cats injured! I realize that not all people can even afford pets especially dogs but why can't they at least stop and take 'em to a shelter or the vet to help them?!
Anyway we kept the cute puppy even though we can't afford it we do our best but I really need help when it comes to getting it shaved twice a year and cutting it's nails cause I happen to be on a fixed budget (I recieve S.S.I. & S.S.A. and cannot work). Does anyone out there know where I can get this done for free?
I brush him in the areas he allows me to brush him on but like on his rear end and legs...forget it! He becomes to violent. Please..can someone give me some advice cause his hair is REALLY matted badly and I can't afford $35-$50. Is there any place around Hollywood,CA where I can get it done? Let me know please. By the way, his name is Spunky. We named it that cause when we found him, he really had spunk and still does. He's a mix of a Maltese and a poodle. I just couldn't do without him now. We love him so much!!
Does you puppy provide or can he be trainned to provide support services for your disability? If so he qualifies as a service animal and their are services out there to help care for service animals.
