Call her "Lucky Penny."
The two-year-old tabby cat, who allegedly was almost killed by a raging Port Richmond man last month, underwent surgery yesterday and will be up for adoption to a loving home in a few weeks.
"She's been through an enormous amount and she is still trusting," said Gail Buchwald, vice president of adoption and mobile clinics at the Manhattan ASPCA. "She loves to be held and is sweet as can be. She really needs to be treated like a princess."

I think that what Ms Buchwald said, "Black cats already suffer a stigma because of their color...Why penalize them any more by limiting the times when they can be adopted?", is rather silly. The cat does not know the difference. You don't spend hours to the cat telling him he is being discriminated against, and expect the cat to do anything else besides look at you, mew or chirp, and maybe lick your nose.
I love cats and there are a lot of sick people out there that would subject these beautiful creatures to a satanic ritual or some other sort of numb-minded idiocy. I think an adoption policy of waiting a few days, or even weeks, until the satinist morons crawl back into their holes, is the better solution.

THE ASPCA IS A GREAT SHELTER, I'M A VOLENTEER THERE.
I'VE ONLY WENT THERE ONCE TO WORK AND IT'S AWESOME THEY HAVE ABOUT 300 CATS AND 100 SOMETHING DOGS AND THERE ALL ADORABLE<33
The man and woman had an argument. The cat did not start it - nor the kitten that was killed.
May I wish a real cruel "repercussion" on the man that killed the kitten.
