ASPCA Statement on China Province Dog Culling
The ASPCA has learned through media accounts and letters from concerned animal welfare advocates that officials in a Chinese province ordered the slaughter of 50,000 dogs in a crackdown after three people died of rabies. According to Chinese state media accounts, the five-day slaughter in Mouding county in Yunnan province in southwestern China ended Sunday, and spared only military guard dogs and police canine units.

please do what you can to stop the cruelty in china.
It seems quite strange that China would rather brutally and inhumanely murder people's pets than to simply enforce a vaccination law. In my county there has not been a case of rabies in a domestic animal since 1987, and I believe that it is largely due to the law requiring all pet owners to vaccinate their animals. It just seems so ridiculous to take people's precious pets away from them, and heartless to beat and torture them. I hope China sees how idiotic this situation is.
Chinese government does require owners to vaccinate their pets, however, China lacks the enforcement on this requirement, therefore, the rules are of no real effect but a merely piece of paper. Besides, the real sad situation in China is that majority of the pet owners are inadquately educated on how to be a responsible pet owner. Quite a lot of owners treat pets as a piece of living toy for their own enjoyment, when it comes to responsibilities, those owners fail miserably. I was in China last summer and It broke my heart to see many helpless wondering dogs abandoned or lost in the busy commercial streets. And I was so shocked to notice that people don't use leash on their dogs when going shopping with them and take them on the crowded public buses. Hundreds poor dogs easily got seperated and lost from their owners. To me, that's just outragiously stupid of the dog owners. China also lacks of organizations such as ASPCA.
I would like to know why the free world is putting up with these Chnese savages. It is time to boycott anything and everything from that country and to major boycott the olympics that will be held there. They have proven they are ignorant backward savages. Someone needs to cull the Chinese!
I do not know why America for one is kissing the butts of the chinese. They have proven they are a horrid evil backward savage people. We should be buying none of their products and boycotting businesses that sell them. NO ONE should go to the olmypics in China - after all money talks - let them take a big hit and loose. This is the 21st century and these savages don't belong in it - they are murdering animals just to be murdering them. The chinese need to be culled.
It doesn't surprise me that a nation whose government would murder thousands of students right before the eyes of the world would resort to this sort of brutal savagery. Those precious creatures who were brutally murdered are now in Paradise while those savage thugs who murdered them can all go straight to HELL! Just another reason why America, for all of its faults, is morally superior to those yellow Commie savages!
i HAD AN ARTICLE IN MY PAPER THAT STATES THAT bEHIJNG WILL TAKE DOG OFF THE MENUE WHILE THE OLYPICS ARE IN FULL SWING.tHESE POOR HELPLESS ANIMALS HAVE BEEN TORTURED FOR THEIR MEAT FOR YEARS. dOES ANYONE THINK THAT THE MONTHS OF THE OLYMPICS WILL MAKE THEM FEEL BETTER? tHEY ARE BEATEN WITH CLUBS TO MAKE THEM MORE TENDER FOR THE TASTES OF THESE SAVAGE PEOPLE. tHEN THEY DIE AFTER SUFFERING HOURS OF HORRIBLE PAIN. wHEN THEY ARE CAPTURED THEY ARE PUT IN WOODEN CAGES AND ARE STUFFED IN THERE WITH NOT ENOUGH TO BREATHE. tHEN THEY ARE BEATEN TO DEATH.
